People usually experience some events that adversely affect their health and wellbeing. Events such as trauma, the death of a loved one, or the loss of job can make it difficult for a person to live a normal life. In addition, the individual who experiences such events may struggle to carry out daily routines. Consequently, there is a need for them to seek professional help so that they can overcome the challenges. Moreover, the individuals require continuous support so that they can get back to their former self. In the class text, the author writes about the issue of trauma and grief and the way they can affect the life or a person. In addition, the author talks about the issues that counselors need to take into consideration so that they can help their clients. One of the interesting issues that is highlighted in the text is the way biblical concepts can help counselors to assist clients to overcome grief and trauma. Though pastoral counselling, it is possible to help patients to heal, develop new strengths, and learn ways through which they can live a normal life. For a long time, people have only focused on the medical and psychological aspects of counseling. Others have failed to consider the way biblical concepts may be used as the basis for dealing with grief and trauma. I believe that the text can be used as the basis for assisting counselors and coaches to understand the issues affecting their clients. The process entails examining the actual causes of trauma and the challenges that the clients face. Once the issues have been identified, the counselor can then proceed to take a biblical approach to find solutions. The focus should be on helping the client to achieve full restoration. Moreover, the counselors should assist the client to learn new ways of overcoming life challenges.

Helping a person to recover from grief or a crisis can be a challenging process. The trend is attributed to the fact that such people may also be undergoing significant pain. In addition, the client may be struggling to lead a normal life after the trauma. In the text, the author provides some critical insights that counselors can use when helping people to overcome grief. The process entails empathizing with the individual, striving to understand the experiences that they are going through in life, and working with them to find a biblical solution to the challenge. In addition, the counselors need to explore biblical issues that can help the individual to overcome mental distress. In this regard, pastoral counselling can be considered to be an effective method through which counselors can achieve their goals at work. When the approach is used in an effective way, the individual who is facing grief will be better placed to recover fully and achieve excellent mental and physical health. It is also imperative to state that a person who is grieving may struggle with painful and intense emotions. The emotions may include sadness, anger, and depression. Others become isolated as they strive to recover. I believe that through the pastoral consoling approach that is highlighted in the text, it is possible to offer support and help to the grieved. In future, I intend to use the biblical concepts to deal with my own emotions and help the people who may also be suffering due to various reasons such as the death of a loved one, loss of job, and trauma. Through the approach, it is possible to find a lasting solution to issues that cause mental distress.
