Involvement of Patients and Their Families

The co-production present in the facility has seen them improve the hospital’s mission and vision especially concerning decision-making of the care to be delivered and administered. By incorporating the patients’ input and that of their family, the whole process of caring becomes continuous. This service employs that the care is primarily patient-centered.

Patients Contribute To the Hospitals Practice Delivery

The hospital has decided to have an action plan in place that involves their patients especially in the healthcare practice of delivery care to their patients. The customer service of the hospital is top notch and emphasizes delivering care that meets the needs of their patients.

Educational Advancement for Employees

Honest Care Hospital is geared at ensuring that all its employees advance in their educational status. Thus, the opportunity accorded to employees to advance their education helps them become competitive and up-to-date with new developments in the industry. These employees are retained by the hospital, which means that the facility attracts competent professionals.

Threats

Economic Instability

The hospital should cater to the needs of its growing population; this requires the expansion of the facility and improving the quality of care given to the 120,000 people. Nonetheless, with the economic status of the country, the patients may not be able to meet their health needs due to the instability of their economic status. The low-income earners may resort to crude ways of curing their loved ones for lack of money to cater to their health needs.

Overstretching of Resources

The expansion will mean that the facility is bound to overstretch its limit and this may affect the care delivered to patients. Moreover, expansions need money, and this could pose a problem in future for the hospital. Furthermore, expansion may affect the turnover of their staff members and may result in the hospital having a shortage of human resources.

From the above SWOT analysis, it is evident that both the internal and external environments of Honest Care Hospital match with the organization’s goals. It is evident that the focus of the medical practitioners at the hospital is to be able to provide their patients with medical aid that is appropriate, compassionate, and effective. As such, they look at attending to the health problems of their patients and promoting good health amongst the population they are serving. The SWOT analysis shows how the medical practitioners at Honest Care Hospital are compassionate because they involve the families of their patients when administering care to their loved ones. Such collaboration has helped the hospital meet all its client’s needs by promoting good health through treating patients using effective treatments. The appropriate technology applied on patients has also been shown in the SWOT analysis by looking at the external and internal environment of the hospital.

Improvement Plan

Measure Outcomes

In a healthcare environment, the results are always captured in their outcome measure that includes measures cross an institution or even looking at all the patients within a diagnostic category in the facility among others. Nonetheless, the validity of the methods concerning their efficiency in measuring the outcomes is also important. For most hospitals, the use of standardized outcome ratios has been helpful because the observed value is normally divided by the expected value. For example, by observing the rate of complications that happen during surgeries, will give a clear picture of how the medical practitioners and facility is working. Moreover, the hospital-acquired infections will also give a clear picture of the hospital's outcomes. However, the hospital should be keen to notice inaccurate information displayed and thus, better risk-adjustment methods are essential (Krumholz, Lin & Normand, 2013).

Identify service problems

Measuring hospital performance will entail conducting regulatory inspections, third-party assessment, public satisfaction surveys, and the use of statistical indicators. By inspecting hospital grounds, the medical practitioners and facilities in use, evident problems concerning services provided by the hospital will be eliminated. Moreover, these inspections will foster the safety of both patients and medical personnel of Honest Care Hospital.

When conducting surveys, the hospital management will be able to get direct feedback from the patients concerning the care they are receiving. Furthermore, the patients will give an account of the value the facility has added to their well-being and health promotion. Moreover, patient satisfaction and experience are domains that will be reflected in the surveys. Lastly, they will be able to measure the performance of the hospital against the explicit standards of the facility by looking at them from a national level (Devaraj, Ow, & Kohli, 2013).

The third-party assessment measurements incorporate accreditation programmes that give focus to improving the services provided by the hospital. As such, they are more oriented towards looking at the patient, the outcome, and performance of the organization, and the clinical procedures outlaid by the facility.

Eliminate gaps in Performance

Gaps in performance are those things that the health provider has failed to do in their practice. For example, misdiagnosis due to lack of knowledge and understanding, performance gaps such as suboptimal patient outcome due to the lack of intervention and action. Moreover, suboptimal patient care is a performance gap that comes due to lack of strategies or methods that relate to competency gaps (Devaraj, Ow, & Kohli, 2013). The elimination of such gaps will entail educating the medical professionals and exposing them to different environments that allow them to learn new things. It is essential for health practitioners to advance their education because of the changes that occur in today’s world concerning health issues (Kitson & Straus, 2010).

Link to Action Plans

The above-outlined action plans are consistent with Honest Care Hospital mission and vision statements. Moreover, the action plans are also consistent with the service strategy of the entire organization. Quality, effectiveness, and customer service are the key focus of the organization regarding their mission, vision, and strategy of providing service to their patients.

Summary

The overall plan of Honest Care Hospital has been to perform as per the vision, mission, and strategy of the entire organization. It is essential for the facility to ensure that their patients achieve quality service and that aspects of effectiveness in delivering the care are observed at all times (Mosadeghrad, 2014). However, the limitation will come in when the resources to provide the service are scarce, and the environments are not conducive. By having such action plans, the healthcare industry as a whole will benefit because their patients are accorded services that promote their health and well-being. The customer care service will enable the healthcare industry to gain the confidence of their population due to their high quality.
