Career decisions are significantly affected by learner’s experiences. According to John Krumboltz's article "Integrating Career and Personal Counseling," there is a close relationship between personal counseling and career. The diverse career problems tend to have a significant emotional component.

One of the major problems in making career decisions is career indecision. Many people exhibit an inability to specify their educational and occupational choices. This results from insufficient information and other factors such as anxiety. The other problem is procrastination. Some learners take a long to make critical career decisions by postponing career decisions. Procrastination and career decisions are referred to as zetophobia (Krumboltz, 1993) . This refers to the fear of exploring their career life. From the article, there are several examples that I relate to. Initially, career exploration was a complicated task during the duration; I suffered zetophobia. The learning environment and my interactions have a significant impact on career development. During interactions, some people have valuable information that helps shape my career development and overcome diverse career challenges.

Counseling programs have had a huge impact on my career development path. During study, families and college administrators give learners access to career counseling professionals. These professionals help to provide information on the process of career exploration while informing on the challenges of choosing the most appropriate careers that suit values, culture, and attitude. Counseling professionals help take a multidimensional approach to careers focusing on the benefits and demands of various careers (Krumboltz, 1993) . The influence of counseling programs on my career did not continue beyond college.

Career influence has helped in exhibiting a high level of professionalism when executing my duties and responsibilities. Through career counseling, the utilization of essential workplace values, attitudes, and culture has helped enhance career development success. Career counseling programs supply adequate information on the need to adhere to the organizational policies and respect for the organizational culture. Various organizations have their distinct culture. To be successful in career development, employees must align their values with the values of the organization.
