While playing, a disciplinary code would be spelled to our team with ramification to any team or individuals who flouted the laid rules. Flag football trained me to be disciplined in adhering to rules and regulations. I observed execution of disciplinary actions such as written or verbal warnings, period of suspension and even removal from the league. Notably, this implied that I needed discipline in every aspect of the sport. Indeed, when it was time to quit flag football, I had no option but to maintain the disciplined personality in me and enforce it in every sphere of my life, be it at work, at home or when engaging in any activity with my peers. Discipline has been my mantra.
Playing flag football taught me the need to show effort and hard work. While playing, earning a name among team cohorts demanded outworking other teammates. My attitude had a paradigm shift thus consequently impacting my view on hard work. Today, I have acquired a solid reputation as the most hardworking employee in my organization.
Flag football shaped my personality positively in several aspects. Football taught me that there are usually no shortcuts. While playing the sport, I learned the need to be selfless. Despite being smart player who could handle multiple positions, I could move around in the event other mates had an injury. My personality was positively impacted by leaning the essence of completing every activity that I start. I could be benched while playing but did not see that as an obstacle to becoming a senior player to an extent of being elected a captain by my peers. Indeed, flag football shaped my character, taught me thinking, behaviour traits hence positively affecting my personality.
