As an emerging adult, I have been so keen on being involved in religious activities that build my confidence as a Christian. I have been a serious Christian since I was a youth, but remarkably, I have been nurtured in the ways of the Lord through the Sunday schools that I attended when I was young. I recognize that Christianity should be demonstrated through our commitment to going to church, praying regularly, studying the world and being actively involved in other spiritual practices. I do not engage in religious practices to win the heart of God centrally, but because I have come to appreciate the love of the Lord Jesus Christ of dying for me. If Christ was able to sacrifice that much for humanity, then I should be willing to surrender much more to Him.
My religious involvement has determined the values that I esteem in life presently, developed my beliefs on morality, religion, and philosophy of life. The word of God and the many teachings that I have received whenever I go to the church has made me respect people and be careful not to offend them through any wrongful actions. Acts of immorality, theft, drunkenness, lies, and much more defile a man and I have come to strongly appreciate people endeavoring to demonstrate Christian values in their day-to-day living.

The religious group to which I belong emphasize strong boundaries and doctrinal aggressiveness. The religion in my community has been a type of pragmatic moralism and the philosophy being supported is that of treating others well, living a holy life to have a hope of heaven when one dies, prayerful life and demonstrating good works. Presently, as an emerging adult, I share this realistic, non-doctrinal, and moralistic strategy to religion. I am among the many that hold the belief that religious engagement is a good way to live our lives and to demonstrate the significant part of showing our identity spiritually. My parents and church members helped to shape this philosophy of expressing religious commitment. However, religious engagement should not just be held as a moral obligation, but we should also make it part of life that is driven from within in appreciating what God has done for us.
