The minorities have greatly influenced the political process enough to play an important role in determining who is elected as president and, as far as affirmative action is concerned, everyone has their own opinions. Not everyone supports it, but it can have a positive impact in our lives too. Through affirmative action, minorities as well as students who are economically disadvantaged are provided with opportunities.
I can say that I have lived long enough to see how politics works. In many cases, the voters support the leaders they think will help them solve the problems they face daily. Most the minorities are poor and people of color. I have seen firsthand how the blacks or Latinos fight for their rights and their voices to be heard. Moreover, they are a great number which can really put someone they believe in on a pedestal political wise. I have had several opportunities that probably other students or other people from financially less capable backgrounds have not been given. Most of these people are unfortunate disproportionally minorities who are struggling daily to maybe fund public schools or other educational recreations. Many of those aspiring to expand their education have no resources to hire college counselors or even access to SAT prep to help them boost their resume enough to get them into college or universities. Instead, they end up working like three jobs to feed their families and fund their education. They do not have enough time for their studies; however, I believe that each and every student who overcomes adversity deserves an opportunity to better education.

All citizens, both the minorities and the majorities, should influence the political process positively for the good of the country. I believe when we do this the right way then even all the issues and opinions on affirmative action will fall into place.
