Multinational corporations play a significant role in controlling business activities between countries in a bid to stabilize global relations and enhance global equality. Functionalist and conflict theorist have different perspectives concerning Multinational corporations and their role in enhancing global relations on issues concerning business operations (Geppert & Dörrenbächer, 2014). Functionalism and conflict theories play a significant role in understanding the society and defining approaches required to be undertaken in the society to enhance social integration. Functionalist holds that aspects of a given society whether positive or negative play an essential role in defining the success of the multinational corporation that focuses on enhancing business operations. Functionalist maintains that it is essential to ensure social order in the society in a bid to achieve successful operations in the multinational corporations (Geppert & Dörrenbächer, 2014). On the other hand, conflict theorist focuses on highlighting interests of different groups within a given society that may lead to conflict thus influencing the operations undertaken by the multinational corporations. Conflict theorists hold that the multinational corporations help in overcoming individual interests within a society and play a significant role in reducing conflict amongst nations.

The perspective views portrayed by the conflict theorist indicate that the multinational corporations have a significant role in enhancing globalization and neo-colonialism in different parts of the world. The theory maintains that it is essential to uphold other factors in the society that may influence the operations of a multinational corporation resulting in conflict in business operations within a region. In my own opinion, I believe that the perspective of the conflict theory has played a significant role in globalization by enhancing social cohesion, which is a critical factor that promotes globalization and neo-colonialism. The approaches undertaken by the conflict theorists regarding the multinational corporations indicate that the corporation focuses on enhancing competition and reducing conflict among nations thus leading to global equality and stability.
