The brain is the center of control of all human activity. The brain processes perceptions based on the stimuli received. The various states of parts of the brain work in coordination to achieve control of actions and the surrounding of an individual.

In the feeding of snacks, the part of the brain involved is the appetite center located in the hypothalamus. This part sends signals the stretch receptors of the stomach through the vagus nerve to achieve satiety once one feeds. Once the satiety center receives impulses from the gastrointestinal system, satisfaction occurs, and the feeling of hunger ceases.

The hippocampus is the memory-forming center. When one learns a new place, name or an object through socialization, the hippocampus, which is located in the temporal lobe of the brain records and keeps this new memory. Every time an individual encounters the same object or person, the thought process that occurs in the hippocampus enables the individual to retrieve and match the name with a person. This memory can be short-term or long-term.

Broca’s Area 1 of the cerebral cortex processes motor control when playing a game of cards. Motor neurons propagate the afferent signals from Area 1 to the hand involved in the play. The hippocampus also forms the memory required in the remembrance of the card patterns and labels. The Broca’s area is also involved in the movement of the muscles involved in a speech during socialization.

The occipital lobe harbors the primary visual area, also known as Area 17. The lobe functions to form images and interpretations based on what the neurons in this lobe receive from the retina of the eyes via the visual pathway. To achieve sight in the game of cards, in feeding and in socializing the occipital lobe has to be functional. An interneuron connection between the occipital lobe and the hippocampus enables the brain to form memories of objects perceived through sight.

In conclusion, the Broca’s area, the hippocampus, and the occipital lobes all have interconnecting pathways that work in synchrony to give an individual the capacity to eat, socialize and to play a game.
