At the beginning of my semester, I knew I was destined for greatness. First, I had trouble with my communication skills, both verbal and written, especially in grammar. Communication helps us to connect and understand other people better. During the semester, my communication skill class had a big impact on me as a student and on my communication skills. This paper discusses the changes this semester has had in shaping my communication skills.
Powerful Learning Moments
During the first week of the semester, our professor encouraged us to look at things differently. Many of his assignments required us to communicate with each other regularly. For example, he emphasized writing the authors' points concerning a book whenever we had a reading response class. The assignments required us to compare our opinions, and it greatly helped me develop better skills to communicate with passages.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Challenges
My greatest challenge was understanding the rhetorical analysis. In these assignments, we were to figure out why authors use rhetorical strategies to deliver messages to their readers. I found these tests challenging because most expectations from the translation lead to misunderstandings.
Strengths
During the semester, I realized that I had improved in my writing communication skills. Written communication was one of the major topics we covered in class. Before that, I used to think that writing was all about expressing ourselves and what we had in mind. After this semester, all that has changed. Thanks to the lessons, I now understand why authors use specific strategies to communicate with their audience.
Changes
To get the most out of the rest of the semester, I have to improve in giving presentations. I urge my professor to guide us through more presentation lessons. Besides the normal communication classes, I have to do more research independently and try to be ahead of everyone else.
