The culture of the school can be defined using these traditions, norms, and rituals ( Schein, 2010) . The school supports the spirit of doing more than it is necessarily required of individuals. It is such a spirit that has helped Some Middle school to become a thriving institution. In this case study, we are going to discuss the organizational culture of Some Middle School and how it impacts the school as an organization.

Some Middle School has a positive organizational culture. For a long time, the school has now been known to a culture that motivates, high academic expectations, safety, and orderly. Safety and orderly culture foster effort and productivity. Some Middle School emphasis on the safety of the school fraternity, ensuring that the learning environment is conducive. Order in the school can be described by the leadership and the rules. Order brings about the smooth running of the organization and supports the basis of putting effort into education.

The collaboration of all the stakeholders, including the teaching staff, nonteaching staff, students, and other stakeholders like parents and government. The collaborative culture foster teamwork, which has enabled the organization to succeed in academics and in extracurricular activities.

Some Middle School has a culture of motivating students to achieve more both in academics and extracurricular activities. Students are motivated by having other people who have succeeded in the past being used as examples. The school population is also motivated to achieve more by ensuring teams and persons who perform well are recognized. High academic expectations culture exists because the school is known to be a performing school in the past.

The influential organizational culture at Some Middle School is amplified in the various units of the school. The school has several groups. These include sports and athletics, counseling, mathematics department, science department, library, and media center, performing arts, language arts department, and the health department. Despite the difference in the goals of the various school units, the culture of the entire organization is spread to the departments.

Each department is expected to maintain high performance, motivated and safe, and orderly culture. As it has proved, the positive culture has fostered Some Middle School to be among the best schools in Florida. Consequently, each department is required to nature the same culture, which leads to departmental success and therefore, the entire organization.

Some Middle School culture can be explained by the diffusionism theory ( Harris, 1998) . The culture of the school has been diffused from one generation to another over the years. The current generation is required to follow the positive and functional traits of the past age. Over the years, the students joining Some Middle School are slowly integrated into the school's culture, which is embedded in the above main elements. It is not easy to change an organizational culture because of it, the heart that defines the patterns and rituals of the organization ( Farrell, 2018).

The organizational Mission, tasks, and goals are blueprints that guide the organization towards the vision of the organization. These are the elements that bring a team together and create a link that brings harmony in the different organizational aspects. The various units must work towards a similar goal and are motivated by the same elements.

Some Middle School develops consensus on Mission, tasks, and goals through a shared decision-making approach. All the different departments and the leaders of the departments are all consulted when it comes to developing the missions and objectives of the organizations. Through consultation of the various departments of the organizations, the leadership of the school can identify the primary purpose and goals of the department and merge them to develop the organizational mission, tasks, and goals.

Through consultation, the different units develop the Mission. The organizational mission help in improving the goals and tasks to be performed by each group. The corporate Mission of Some Middle School is To Provide quality education and Bring Up an all-round student . The mission states that the school has a responsibility to provide quality education to the student and also help the children grow and develop in all other aspects. All department leaders come together in determining tasks and goals for each department.

Every person joining Some Middle School has a defined role under the job description. For example, each teacher has defined roles when being employed at the school. The teachers’ job description includes teaching the specified subjects, training the students and motivating them, attending staff meetings, and monitoring the students’ discipline — all teachers, except those holding positions such as the principal, school superintendent and deputy superintendent.

Teachers’ primary responsibility is to attend all the assigned subjects and attending all classes. Tutors' responsibility is to help the students learn, which include teaching, guiding, giving class works, and assignments. Teachers have the responsibility of training students to acquire skills such as conducting science experiments. The role of the teachers also includes motivating and pushing the students to do more and achieve more. It is also the responsibility of the teachers to monitor the academic performance and the discipline of the students. The teachers’ role also includes setting up exams and providing student performance reviews. Teachers are supposed to attend all teaching staff and contribute where necessary.

After joining the Some Middle School, teachers are required to do more than what is described under the job description. Teachers are assigned extra duties that are part of the organizational culture that is not specified in their job description. For example, a teacher may be assigned to help in coaching or training children in an area that the teacher has a little experience. Some middle school culture requires teachers to engage in extracurricular activities as a way of demonstrating collaboration and building teacher-student bonds. Teachers are also needed to build a warm environment, become role models, mentor, and nurture students, and monitor signs of trouble in school.

The organizational culture of Some Middle School requires teachers to be more and do more than the job description requires them. Every organization is a culture ( Bolman Lee & Deal, 2017) . Some Middle School has a culture that requires all parties to do more to ensure the success of the parties involved. All parties in the school are encouraged to embrace the school culture because it is the main reason why the school has been successful in the past. According to Bolman Lee and Deal (2017), organizations are like a theatre where the party involved is supposed to dramatize, but the final results must be pleasing to the shareholders.
