1.Describe the mission of the site
The mission of the site is, to discover, interpret, and disseminate-through scientific research and education-knowledge about human cultures, the natural world, and the universe.
2.Describe 3 examples of how you might use this site to support the teaching of your subject (Biology)
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The museum provides an opportunity to see and handle real objects, and the opportunity to experience primary sources, this advantage can be used to enhance curriculum and reach beyond it by offering learners a holistic learning experience and insights. Secondly, the museum has equipped science laboratories, this supports learning by enabling learners to demonstrate classroom teaching through experimentation due to the availability of specimens, objects , and learning equipment. Thirdly, the museum provides an online website, this can be used to research important information when teaching.
3. Would you recommend this site to other teachers teaching your or other subjects? Why or why not?
I would recommend this site to teachers teaching other subjects because, the museum is physically surrounded by elements that teachers had previously taught students, this allow s the learners to connect the visual with their class experiences. The museum is therefore relevant because learners are able to merge information and create a complete understanding of the subject matter. The site also has educational programs in different subjects, this encourages students to participate in activities that encourage them to use and develop social as well as interpersonal skills. The availability of objects, hands-on exhibits, and activities allows teachers to help learners explore their interests
4. What resources would you use to augment each of the three examples you identified in #2?
The resources that can be used to augment learning involve, the use of real objects like skulls and skeletons in the museum to demonstrate classwork. Secondly, hands-on the project can be applied where students are engaged in handling equipment when learning specimens in the laboratory. Thirdly, a link can be created to enable students to access the museums website at ease.
