Technological developments have contributed to an increase in applications and tools that enhance user experience and offer different functionalities. Developers, for example, are rushing against each other to come up with new and innovative solutions that appeal to the ever-changing users. One challenge that everyone faces is to determine an application or software that meets their needs. It is common, for example, for a user to find one that serves their needs only for it to be redundant in a month or two. Similarly, different solutions serve the same purpose and users are confused as to their differences and functionalities (Phetteplace & Spina, 2014) Finding, sharing and evaluating technology are an integral part of assessing the need for change in strategic technology management.

It can be challenging to keep up with the pace of technological developments, even if one is a technologist. The same is complicated by a challenging and complicated environment that requires users to meet tight deadlines and goals. Such individuals spend most of their time on their work and have little to learn about new tools and technologies that can enhance their ability to cope with the changes. Despite the challenges in keeping up with the changes, it is critical to remain at par with the new developments. It is at this level that collaboration and coordination can enhance innovation since it helps in sifting through different options to determine the most appropriate to the current conditions.

The best way to remain relevant in the changing landscape is to be able to find the best tools and solutions and adapt them to the needs of the users. One should develop an appropriate strategy that can enhance the process of finding, sharing, and evaluating the tools to establish their ability to address user requirements. Such a plan will ensure that the process is manageable and systematic, thus giving a developer a competitive edge over the rest. It implies that one should be able to find the best solutions and tools as they emerge to be ahead of the pack. The process can appear simple, but in reality, it requires prioritization and careful thought (Phetteplace & Spina, 2014). The developer should understand the target audience, their demographics, the devices they use, tasks that interest them, and staff. The next step is to identify an appropriate source of information that can enhance one’s ability to meet the needs of the target. The developer should also conduct a detailed search of different sources and background checks of the same to enrich their knowledge and determine their relevance.

Once a developer has found new and exciting tools, they should move to the next step, which is evaluation. One should share their expertise in the area and add value by experimenting with different technologies and selecting the most appropriate criteria. One of the factors that will determine whether a developer will invest in an application is its price. With the presence of free applications, it can be challenging for one to develop an expensive app and expect clients to pay dearly for its use (Phetteplace & Spina, 2014). Another concern is the platform in which the technology can be used since it can be challenging to have one that can be accessed by different devices and platforms. It is also critical to consider user interface, which focuses on issues like the usability of the tool, learning, visuals, and accessibility.

A developer should also look at flexibility in the way it can be used and integrated with other tools and applications. Other factors include the security or privacy of the application, thanks to increased online threats and privacy issues (Phetteplace & Spina, 2014). It is also vital to consider the age level of the users since the tool should be appealing to the group. Competitors and alternatives are other considerations while developing an application since there is a need to find alternatives to the existing apps.

The next step is for the developer to share what they have found and evaluate one's needs to develop plans for sharing and promoting the resources. Online sharing and social events can enhance the number of users reached. App reviews and posts can also expand their use. Additionally, it is critical to identify other platforms that can improve the sharing of the applications (Phetteplace & Spina, 2014). A developer should try to share an application to as many users as possible to ensure that they start using it before a new tool that rivals its existence comes up. The higher the number of potential users reached, the better it is for a developer.

Finding, sharing, and evaluating technology is an integral part of assessing the need for change in strategic technology management. Developers must be abreast of the latest technological developments and known how to develop and avail such applications to the users. They must understand what is expected of them at each stage and how they can promote the success of each phase. It is critical to engage the various stakeholders throughout the process to incorporate their feedback and to enhance their acceptance. An adequately coordinated process will ensure that a developer can strategically manage the technology and contribute to cutting edge inventions that appeal to the target audience. The developer musts understand the various factors that affect the development of new applications and their impact on the proposed tools and solutions.
