After taking the Strength Finder quiz, I realized that human beings have various strengths that are latent of openly manifested. The previous week I sought to find out what my strengths are and how to use them wisely to better myself and that of others. After the research session, I realized that my five best strengths are positivity, activator, responsibility, input strategic thinking, and arranger. I did not react to finding out my top five strengths because these are the characteristics I have seen in me for quite a long time now. Except that I want to utilize and build upon my strength to make me a great manager.
My top five strengths according to Strength Finder have assisted me so much in line with my leadership skills. Positivity is the one strength that has helped me so much in relating to people under me. I am good in looking for, discovering and creating a positive environment around the people I relate with. Having a positive personality benefits my leadership skills by enabling me to handle every difficulty that arises in one’s life and face the situation as it is and most importantly remaining unaffected. My second strength is activator; I have the ability to turn thoughts and ideas into actions, make things happen or start new things and initiate things so that they can happen. I have the tendency of starting one project after another upon every completion and working on them effectively so that the outcome can be great. Being an activator, I believe I have the energy and self-drive to help others achieve a lot as I am innovative and thus can help them in generating new things and get them going. My third strength is Responsibility. Being responsible means, I fully take commitment on what I do. I take ownership of anything I am committed to, be it work or personal interests. Having this strength as a leader allows me to teach people and make them loyal and trustworthy and highly persuasive as they will have some high level of commitment. My fourth strength is Input Strategic Thinking, I personally like collecting data and information and use them in learning and knowing new things. Gathering of information enables me to understand things and people in a better way. This is ideal for leading as I will have my set of information gathered and arranged neatly to avoid confusion or loss of data in an institution thus the work done will be excellent. My fifth strength is being arranger as I can come up with a way of putting together all the required resources and pieces for maximum productivity. This strength affects my leadership skills positively because I will be able to influence to influence the people under my leadership to organize their items and schedules for effective productivity.

To be a good leader, I need to work on my confidence as well as on how I communicate with others. These traits together with my strengths will make me a good leader. Being confident is essential for a leader as I will be giving instructions and commands that ought to be followed. It is almost not possible to get the results that one requires if a leader is not able to communicate the vision and aim of the organization in a good manner to the workers. These traits differ slightly from my strengths, and that is why I will need to work on them.
Out of my five strengths, I will need to be more responsible and an activator in the future. I think this will sharpen my leadership skills as well as nurturing me into a good manager. This is because commitment is an important role in management, so the name of the organization I represent is critical. Building on being an activator will ensure that I make things happen by putting idea and thoughts into actions which are ideal for being a good manager.
