Disputes are bound to occur in organizations and areas of work. There are numerous means of handling workplace disputes. The two suitable means of handling disputes within the healthcare organizations are litigation and negotiation (Sığrı, & Karabacak, 2019). Negotiations are a means of handling conflict whereby involved parties come together and hold a dialogue to reach a consensus that will be beneficial for all parties. Litigation is a means through which one party sues another in the civil court (Sığrı, & Karabacak, 2019). Negotiations are used when avoiding legal action and the negative impacts of it.
The employee handbook is important in handling healthcare workplace issues as it informs employees on their responsibilities to ensure they have clarity on what to do. This helps in reducing instances of work conflict (Shi, 2010). Another reason that makes employee handbook important is that they have policies on the safety measures that employees must use in case of any emergency like an accident in the hospital (Shi, 2010).

The idea that mediation and arbitration are commonly used in the field of medical practice to avoid negative impacts is true. Healthcare organizations are trusted facilities, and whenever a lawsuit is filed, patients may no longer feel comfortable and safe in the facility thus reducing their chances of getting well while the hospital suffers from monetary losses from the case proceedings. I agree with you that employee handbooks not only offer policies for employees on safety measures but also enlightens them on how to conduct important procedures on patients in case of emergencies. These two factors contribute to the relevance of having an employee handbook alongside the fact that it also explains to employees what is expected of them (Shi, 2010). This ensures that chances of malpractice are reduced significantly as the provisions in the handbook abide by the law.
