Characteristics of Change

Numerous characteristics illustrate readiness to accept change in individual and organizational setting. First is the continuance aspect which is revealed by organizational commitment. Such is whereby workers are ready and willing to undertake the tasks assigned to them diligently and produce the required results. The employees are willing and ready to go an extra mile to ensure the company's objectives are attained. Altruism is another characteristic that reveals readiness to lead change within an organizational setting. Employees who value their leaders and want to do anything to please them will be ready to accept changes in their routine activities. Courage is the third aspect that illustrates the willingness to lead change. Often, people fear change because they lack the courage to face it. Courageous and competent employees are set and ready for anything since they can handle and adapt to all changes launched within a company.

Traits of withdrawal

Employees who are not satisfied with whatever activities they perform tend to behave in a manner suggesting they are planning on leaving. For instance, lateness and absenteeism are some of the most common illustrations of turnover. Dissatisfaction leads to absenteeism whereby employees attend to their duties at own pleasure and tend to provide lame excuses for not attending. Such is a clear sign of withdrawal that managers must address. Poor or lack of communication within the company premises cultivates chances of a turnover. Lateness to work is also another indicator of withdrawal from the company. Workers do not seem interested in arriving to work on a timely basis since they feel they are not obligated. They attend to their task first before considering doing company tasks. This means that company comes second and keeping time is no longer a priority.
