A manager should address this issue by sufficiently using the preservation methods. The manager should conduct the following maintenance, in order to minimize maintenance operating costs: Preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, predictive maintenance, Rehabilitation/upgrading, failure analysis and component rebuild are some of the preservative methods that the manager should adopt in order to address the issues of maintenance operating costs ( Jardine & Tsang, 2013) .
Preventive maintenance is the simple operations that the manager needs to carry out on regular basis. Corrective maintenance is needed to correct the defects that may have occurred during the operation. Rehabilitation or upgrading simply requires operations of meaningful nature to be carried out at intervals of several years Such as re-graveling, grading and surface leveling. Failure analysis is critically looking at the mistakes made that did not lead to the success of the operation. Lastly, the component rebuild is to rebrand the operational methods.
