Q1).

Emotional Intelligence (EI) involves the aspect of problem solving in the event that individuals experience adverse emotions. In reference to health of individuals, it can be observed that lower levels of emotional intelligence contributes to poorer psychosocial outcomes (Kee et al., 2009). A significant relationship also exists between EI and health including anhedonia-asociality and avoliation-apathy (Kee et al., 2009). One can also discern that the patients with low levels of EI exhibited, high levels of thought disorders and bizarre behavior. There has also been poorer performance in regards to emotional intelligence among patients suffering from schizophrenia. Moreover, impairment of tasks is a common occurrence which establishes how viable emotional intelligence is to the health of individuals.

Q2).

It is apparent that some of the special programs being set up to ameliorate the negative effects exhibited by low EI on patients suffering from schizophrenia are bound to be useful. It was further observed that a strong correlation exists between emotional intelligence and schizophrenia. Also, while alluding to schizophrenia patients with low EI, it is evident that they encounter poorer psychosocial adjustment and also competence within their area of residence. Besides, negative emotional intelligence is a key component of poor functional outcome among individuals suffering from schizophrenia.

Q3).

Part of the emotional intelligence in an individual coping with autism is exhibited through outbursts. The individual may even bang their head when exasperated. One could easily dismiss the person as intellectually challenged since their speech may be blurry and unclear (STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder, 2012). Part of their emotional intelligence is also exhibited by covering their ears which is viewed as a way of these individuals drowning the sensory input which overloads them. A person with autism also appears to be in their own world since they take conversations factually (STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder, 2012). Their emotional subtext is, therefore, often unseen. If I was to tell them one thing it would be that I can only imagine the lengths they go to in trying to communicate with others and this makes me admire them.

Q4).

Emotional Intelligence offers individuals the ability to exhibit healthy behaviors and also exhibit compassion when associating with others. Low levels of emotional intelligence are indicative of the fact that an individual is unable to showcase such responses (Kee et al., 2009). One of the ways in which EI impacts my health habits and behaviors is that it assists in creating awareness. This implies that I may be experiencing complex challenges which EI can discernably enable me to express. Secondly, it enables me to show empathy towards certain situation. Finally, self-regulation appears to be one of the greatest abilities brought about by EI since it enables me to control my emotions in reference to certain situations.
