The human capital world has experienced massive changes in the recent past. Unlike in the past when businesses were not hiring millennial in large numbers, the situation has now changed. Fifty percent of the workforce in most companies across the globe is millennial. Companies have been forced to restructure in order to embrace the new changes such as networking online, social media interaction, and technological advancements.

In my current workplace, the rise of technology has brought changes. We can continue to work beyond the working hours. Even when we are away from the office, we can check and respond to mails, and talk to clients through the phone as they place orders (Heathfield, 2019). The boundaries that once separated us from work have disappeared and technology has made working around the clock possible.

In the same vein, the training of employees has changed. The company has come up with online platforms, teleseminars, and recording software that has made it possible for new employees to get training (Heathfield, 2019). Meetings are no longer being held in boardrooms. Employees can attend company meetings online or utilize the recording software and follow up later.

The new trends have made the company to restructure (Deloitte US, 2016). The company has focused on bringing employees together towards achieving a common goal. To enable this to happen, the management has established a digital communication center where employees can share critical information (Deloitte US, 2016). The company has put up a department to cater for social media and blogging policies, something we never had in the past. In order to drive the digital platforms, the human resource leadership has hired young, aggressive and tech-savvy millennial. The millennial employees can interact and communicate using the social media platforms, which makes it easier to keep track of colleagues.

Undoubtedly, the human resource capital trends have brought changes in companies across the globe. It is possible to work around the clock, hold meetings online and owing to the transformations, companies have been forced to restructure.
