What trends do you see in the SHRM article that will impact the organization you work for and why? 

Owing to the changing work environment, the millennial workers have had to undergo a number of changes; some of which are still in the process of being initiated. Besides, numerous trends which are likely to impact on the organization are occurring rapidly, making it necessary for the Company to adapt to the changes or be edged out of the market by competitors.

One of the observable trends is the aspect of finding the right talent. Currently, it has become necessary for the organization to find the most appropriate talents for the various jobs available. The reason behind this pertains to the idea that there are many related businesses which are joining the market. Besides, the fast growth being observed in various institutions makes it necessary for businesses to have the most skilled people to accelerate such growth and also to ensure that the Company is in a position to make all the necessary adjustments. 

Secondly, upskill and reskill, are other trends which have affected my current organization. Visionary workers are expected to upgrade their skills regularly owing to the changing business needs. In addition to this, they should not only be focused on what is happen within their area of expertise, but also what is taking place in the rest of the world (Jerath, 2018). Besides, it is the responsibility of the business to ensure that it empowers the workers by equipping them with more skills which are likely to contribute towards its success. Remaining relevant within the industry has become a matter of great concern and the Company is, therefore, obliged to ensure that the employees become well adapted to their work environment so that they can be able to deliver high quality work. 

Another trend that is likely to impact on the organization is online learning. Unlike the previous situations whereby employees had to attend lengthy workshops in order for them to learn new things, this new trend is likely to not only minimize cost but also offer greater resource knowledge to the workers at the organization. This has especially become popular with the younger employees who are in a position to grasp things quickly. Besides, online learning ensures that the workers are able to work uninterruptedly as they continually gain knowledge which is resourceful to the Company. 

There is no doubt that the incorporation of Chatbots into organizational activities is a resourceful trend for the workers which the business ought to adopt. Owing to this advanced form of communication, workers do not necessarily have to spend a lot of time moving around aimlessly seeking crucial knowledge regarding a certain task. Instead, they can communicate with their superiors at work and even have the matter addressed without having to appear before them physically. Also, the Chatbots are likely to be effective since they deliver messages instantly to the employees and, therefore, it would be unlikely for employees to miss out on critical details pertaining to a certain situation. 

With the many changes occurring in the contemporary world including the high cost of living which is currently being experienced, flexible work arrangements is increasingly becoming a necessity for many Companies. If this was to be introduced in the organization, it would ascertain that employees are in a position to work for a sufficient duration of time which allows them to have enough time to cater for other outside engagements (Jerath, 2018). Also, this is a motivating factor which ensures that the employee is an a position to concentrate on their required task whenever they are at work unlike scenarios where they end up multitasking thus leading to dismal work performance. If the Company fails to shape up, there is a possibility that some of the highly skilled individuals may relinquish their posts in exchange for a less demanding opportunity which they may wish to venture into.

Creation of an appealing employee experience is indeed another fundamental trend which the organization will be obliged to adopt. Many workers in the current environment are seeking to join a Company which offers them an experience that goes beyond the ordinary daily routine. Repetitive exercises are undoubtedly monotonous and tiring and, therefore, incorporation of new interactions which are initiated during an interview session and later extend to the working environment are essential. This is because they make the employees to feel important and appreciated and thus lead them to produce great results. 

The community focus which is an emerging trend is also one other aspect that the organization will have to adopt. Businesses are increasingly looking for ways that they can contribute towards the edification of the community or environment around them. Despite having a positive effect on the organization, the move is likely to ensure that workers end up becoming responsible citizens (Jerath, 2018). Also, deployment of workers to develop the community is an initiative that is likely to popularize an organization and endear it to potential clients. 

What additional trends do you foresee that will have impact on your organizations (use research and bring in another article or research which supports your assertion)?

In addition to the aforementioned trends another change that are likely to have an impact on the organization is differentiation of products. Most entities, are working towards popularizing their brands by ensuring that their products appear distinct from those of their competitors (Nathan, 2016). By coming up with uniquely branded products, a Company is capable of establishing a significant dominance within its area of operation. This is, therefore, a necessary trend which the business will have to look into in a bid to remain relevant within the industry. 

Also, prioritization of financial and mental wellness is another trend that one can foresee. Take for instance, a scenario where employees are working continuously for long hours or taking more than one job in order to sustain their financial needs. Besides, the increased cost of education implies that employees are spending a significant portion of their income paying off student loans (Gurchiek, 2018). This is likely to result in financial stress and thus making it necessary for the mental wellness of individuals at work to be assessed; failure to which it may result in substandard work performance. 

What do you recommend that your company do in order to respond to this trend?

One of the recommendations that I would make to my Company is on the great need to adapt with the changing work environment. Millennial employees are more attracted to businesses that are conforming to the new age of information and technology. They want to work in Companies that are likely to advance their level of technical knowhow and also give them an upper hand to cope with the changing world. Besides, the new trends are bound to result in positive changes within the business, thus contributing to the profitability of the entity. Also, the business has to become more flexible in regards to the working hours. Employees concentrate less when there are long prescribed working durations for them. Instead, it is better for them to work within a short span of time and deliver quality work. Finally, the recent trends taking place are inevitable and it is a high time that the organization shapes up and adapts to the developments.
