Q1. On Picture and Description
At about 5 by 2 by 2 inches in dimension, my visual display of choice is a grey digital alarm clock that is always by my bedside.
Q2. On Positive and Negative Aspects of the Display
The relatively large digital LED display is a particularly interesting feature as it allows for enhanced regular-sized visual images on time and room temperature given the blurry vision that is characteristic of waking up in the morning. When the display is off, it clear reflective surface makes up for a small makeup/ shaving mirror. The display output provides for several measures including a 12 and 24-hour clock as well as an interchangeable degrees ( 0 C) and Fahrenheit ( 0 F) temperature. The unit’s 5*2*1.5 size allows for an un-paralleled ease in portability especially during overnight camping excursions in the woods. Given its dark display panel and a light grey plastic casing; the unit is rarely incongruous, but rather complements most items in the room with it sleek artistic finish.

Despite the positive attributes; the unit also has its short comings. Though the display unit has been intentionally made glossy to enhance its reflective aspects, it also attracts a lot of fingerprint and other smudges- At best this is simply irritating, at its worst the intended display is distorted. The display out arguable does not utilize its empty space more prudently as only one output parameter can be displayed at a given time.
Q3. Recommendation for redesign
To make the display even more effective; careful consideration ought to be placed on redesigning the glossy surface to make it less susceptible to smudges whilst maintaining its reflective properties. A granulated glass display would still carry reflective properties but with less smudge. Also; incorporating smaller displays such as the sunrise or falling snow alongside the main display output would go a long to improve the utilization of empty space, as well as make the display more lively and effective
