Part A: Evaluation of Strengths

Irrespective of the professions that people work in, they need to serve as experts in those areas. To realize successes, they need to portray certain strengths. Serving as a human resources professional, the major strength that I possess is strong communication skills. I believe that my words have significant influence on the people that surround me. Failing to communicate the needs of employers or vice versa ends up hurting the involved parties by the words said. In my case, I believe that being successful in the field of human resources requires me to use words in an effective manner while communicating with the different organizational members. I am also strong when it comes to exercising ethics in an organization. Human resources professionals should go past reproach on matters related to ethics. Since I am trusted with confidential information pertaining to my employer and employees, I ensure to refrain from sharing the sensitive information (Reflektive, 2019) . For instance, in the event that a colleague asks regarding the salary certain individuals receive, my professional ethics would prevent me. Additionally, I regard it as my job to institute ethical standards while at the same time ensuring that they work effectively in the organization.

I regard strong skills to conflict management as adding to my strengths as human resources professional. Addressing conflict within an organization is a daunting task while I realize that conflict within the organization has a means of either blowing up or being worked out. I perceive it as my duty to utilize critical thinking capabilities quickly to address any conflicts that might emerge. I ensure to gather sufficient information, recognizing the issue, institute potential solutions, and advocate for a workable solution. Conflict within an organization is natural while having the ideal skills to manage it and the capacity for changing perspective ensures that a company continues to operate normally. I also possess strong organizational skills, which also serve as some of my strengths. Human resource professionals are endowed with numerous duties within an office relating to firing, hiring, addressing conflicts in the workplace, maintaining records, and educating the team members (Reflektive, 2019) . When serving as a human resource professional, I play a critical role in daily employees’ lives, although I need to ensure to keep huge paperwork amounts. In addition, the regulations and laws change on a continuous basis making organizational skills crucial when performing my duties. These have contributed greatly to allowing me serve as an effective human resource professional.

Furthermore, I am good when it comes to establishing strategic perspectives for my organization. I believe that great human resource professionals should have increased understanding of their organization’s vision and strategy. As such, they develop the capacity for aligning their initiatives and projects with organizational needs. Strong human resources professionals also have increased understanding regarding how the management and senior leaders see high performance. This viewpoint helps me to establish the competencies required for every description, which relates to the process of managing human resources in an organization. In this sense, I am able develop talent development initiatives that contribute to future organizational success. Overall, from the different strengths I possess, they apply to my personal life, work, and school activities in various ways. For example, in my workplace, the skills have developed while dealing with the different individuals of distinct cultures and backgrounds (Reflektive, 2019) . College life has also allowed me to gain increased understanding concerning the requirements for the human resource professional. Also, I have interacted with individuals in my daily personal endeavors while I have assisted them in addressing different conflicts, which have hindered them from progressing in life.

Part B: Summary of the Human Resources Career

The career that have considered as most interesting in my case is one of the Human Resources professional. When it comes to the salary range, the median yearly wage that individuals in the field earn is approximately $106,910. The median wage refers to the wage in which that half of employees in the occupation earn less while the other half earns more. For the lowest 10 percent, it earns below $63,140 while the top 10 percent earns over $193,550. Based on industry, human resources managers in key sectors generate incomes, including management of enterprises and companies ($121,390), scientific, professional, and technical services ($120,980), manufacturing ($103,200), government ($95,950), healthcare and social assistance ($91,250) (Collegegrad, 2019) . A large number of managers in the human resources field work on a fulltime basis.

Concerning the employment outlook, estimates reveal that the next 10 years will see the hiring of human resource managers rise by 9 percent, which is around as fast as the other occupations. The growth in employment is dependent on growth as well as performance of individual firms. With the formation of new companies and expansion of the existing ones, the need for human resource managers will rise, while their duty will be to oversee as well as manage the different operations that they undertake (Collegegrad, 2019) . The human resource professionals will also require following the sophisticated and changing employment laws concerning health, safety, equal employment opportunity, retirement plans, wages, and healthcare.

Individuals with a profession in human resource management can land in different positions, including Human Resource Generalist, HR Director, Employment and Placement manager, Recruitment and Specialist Director, and Training managers. Furthermore, securing the profession requires individuals to have a certain form of education. The people mostly require a bachelor’s degree. The candidates might secure a bachelor’s degree in human resources or other fields, including business management, finance, information technology, or education (Collegegrad, 2019) . The courses in areas, such as industrial psychology, conflict management would be essential. In the event of jobs at higher levels, they might require individuals to have a master’s degree in labor relations, human resources, or business administration.

Part C: Reflection on Education, Past Work, and Life Experiences

Regarding my education, past work, and life experiences, they have played a crucial role in preparing me for my future workplace. Concerning education, our syllabus in college laid out the expectations for the field. As managers of the future, we were taught various ways of aligning company strategies with HR, comprehend the influence of internal and external environments, and design HR systems for encouraging positive behaviors among the workers. We also gained insights on ways of comprehending employee relations, managing change in the event of challenging times, and taking advantage of the strategic HR capabilities while at the same time incorporating critical thinking to boosting organizational decision making.

For the various textbooks that we came across at school, they were quite practical while they illustrated the need for deploying HR practices based on the manner in which they prevail in the real world. As opposed to emphasizing on concepts and theories without ideas concerning how to apply them, the syllabus illustrated the goals for reading the different chapters, their techniques, strategic importance, distinct perspectives, best practices, challenges, and the emerging trends in the globalized world. The utilization of examples from the real world together with the use of case studies facilitated in closing the learning gap. Furthermore, the professors were highly inspiring and motivated while at the same time possessing increased levels of knowledge (Getlighthouse, 2019) . They were quite understanding and receptive of how we approached them with the different concerns or questions.

Moreover, the aspects for learning differed from those of a traditional setting since the learners needed to take collective responsibility for learning by sharing their individual knowledge, experiences, and skills under the professors’ guidance. Here, I realized that the strategy left memorable encounters for the different students pursing the course. The class environment promoted and nurtured a collective setting for exchanging thoughts, ideas, and criticism, which resulted to the desired repercussions. The Socratic teaching style assisted us in reflecting on the topics, foster shared learning, and participate in team coherency. The different organizational case studies led us to comprehend the existing practices in diverse HR situations, companies, issues, and problems as they arose (Getlighthouse, 2019) . We also gained insights on how to think critically while exploring options in an effort to deal with any issues related to the human resources profession.

Concerning how my past work has contributed to my human resources field, I started by serving as an intern for a recruitment database. The task here focused of offering the employees relevant tasks. In the event that the recruiter wished to see their CVs, I would to a pre-screen for viewing purposes. This aimed at ensuring that they were ideal for the roles assigned to them in line with making sure that they were appropriate to send via recruiters. I have also served as a recruitment associate whereby I pursue roles related to recruiting in-house. The task is quite different from the role I pursued as an intern since I would initially recruit for other companies when they approached us. This was particularly the case when new roles emerged, such as hiring for the positions of account managers. While performing this task, I would be required to source the potential candidates from LinkedIn while following through the entire contract.

From my past work, I would say that it contributed greatly to advancing my skills as a human resources profession. Starting with my internship, I managed to gain experience that allowed me to secure placement from, a different organization, which provided me with increased opportunities for advancing my HR skills, including presentation skills, confidence, and networking. I also managed to acquire numerous contacts with which I would use in the event that I needed to change my career from the present organization. I have managed to gain increased experience when it comes to doing significant back end work, including pre-screening, CV screening. In this sense, from my experience as an intern and the resultant work placement, I was able to realize the important role that human resources professionals play within an organization. They facilitate in ensuring that companies acquire the candidates that would meet the distinct organizational requirements. As a result, these individuals later contribute to overall improved productivity and competitiveness of an organization. As such, I realized that the human resources profession is crucial for every firm that wishes to realize undisputed successes in its diverse undertakings.

From a personal level, I have come across a life experience that has led me to appreciate the tasks that human resources undertake. For my dad, he serves as a great leader. When it was young, my dad would present me with numerous opportunities while at the same time encouraging me to follow my individual dreams and goals. He played a critical role in empowering me to be the person that I am presently. My dad would always tell me that learning plays an essential role in allowing individuals to succeed in life while stagnation results to failure. He would encourage me to keep growing, learning, and moving since the world is changing on a continuous basis. Hence, embracing change is the only way of adapting to life. Based on this life, experience, it has played an essential role in allowing me to grow in my human resources career. I have realized the importance of keeping track of the trends in the field to allow me to grow and ensure to deliver the best human resources services to any organization that I encounter.
