Thesis Statement

We note that human activities significantly impact the environment and, therefore, together with the rapid campaigns for how human activities affect our natural surroundings in the long run, we should be more aware of the need to minimize global environmental footprint by being resource-efficient, minimize industrial waste generation, reduce the use of harmful farm chemicals, reduce toxic emissions and encourage afforestation.

Opposing Position

The need to exploit various natural resources increases with the demands of the ever-growing global population. People clear forests to find land for settlement and cultivation. Deforestation is harmful to the environment, but it is essential for human life sustainability in search of settlement areas and food. Connecting is vital in today's global setting. Computers virtually connect the world while our transport systems physically connect us. Both computers and most means of travel leaves behind harmful levels of carbon footprint. Global interconnection has become a crucial component of today's life; hence very impossible to do without.

Authors Position

A sustainable environment is a crucial part of humanoid survival and is achieved by reducing its destruction and pollution. A study conducted by Cheema and Javed (2017) noted that "Most organizations have adapted human resource practices that encourage a green environment with a consideration of minimal environmental pollution and destruction of the environment." Improper waste disposal is another havoc to the environment, as noted by Bhatt et al. 2018 whose study concluded that Bhatt et al. 2018 noted that "millions of tons of solid wastes are produced as a result of various household, agricultural, and industrial activities around the globe every year, which if not managed and disposed of properly can create serious health and environmental issues."

Benefits

We are all urged to care for our environment as the impacts of not taking care of the environment are disastrous and noxious in the end. Uncontrolled emissions of greenhouse gasses into the environment results in global warming, which causes climate change in the long run. Global warming results in intense heat waves and a rise in sea levels. We should focus on afforestation for the trees and vegetation because, as a note by Runyan and D'Odrico (2016), "can provide food, medicine, and fuel . " Human beings should look for ways to reuse and recycle their wastes. The application of "waste-to-energy technologies that physically convert waste matter into more useful forms like bioethanol, biobutanol, biogas, biohythane, CNG, and syngas through various processes such as combustion, pyrolysis, gasification, or biological treatments" should be globally adopted (Bhatt et al., 2018).
