Humidity is the water vapor amount in the atmosphere. It is the most variable atmosphere element and incorporates a significant characteristic in weather and climate. The presence of water vapor in the atmosphere is very substantial. The vapor gets into the environment mainly from water evaporation from water surfaces on earth, sea, and land. Additionally, the levels vary from place to place and at different times. Humidity is measured through degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit. The reason is that humidity capacity is primarily determined by temperature ( Guinn & Barry, 2016 ). For instance, at 86° Fahrenheit, a volume of air can constitute four percent of water vapor. Airplane depends on atmospheric attributes and most levels of humidity to fly; thus, it is an essential consideration during aviation operations.
Broadly, humidity influences the way an airplane flies due to pressure changes that accompany humidity changes. However, as humidity rises, the air pressure of a place reduces. It means that the airplane wings possess few air molecules to influence as they get pushed through the air mass. Thus, few molecules equal less lift ( Haller et al., 2015 ). Another impact is that humidity affects jet engines. Mostly, the engines are built for dry, cold air, and humid air possesses fewer oxygen molecules for burning per unit volume. Thus, the combustion in the engine is less and thus putting a little less thrust for the airplane. Humidity vastly reduces aircraft performance as it lowers air density.

In flights that I have had in life, when I was coming out of the plane, I always feel less spry than on the plane. Currently, I understand the reason is the low humidity on the plane. Low humidity leads to an individual feeling dehydrated and raises the possibility of being sick. Nonetheless, there are ways of fighting low humidity in an airplane ( Goodman & Small Griswold, 2018 ). For instance, stay hydrated and moisturize the skin. It is best to figure out ways of fighting low humidity and its effects on an individual. Additionally, aviation organizations should provide methods of countering low humidity for passengers and other flight attendants.
