Major Cognitive Changes of this Period

Adams development is characterized by various reflexive responses that suggest cognitive growth. In the first months, she began to communicate her feelings, for instance, active crying when hungry. She also learned to suck and in this process developed a close attraction to the mother. The process seemingly helped Adams to develop a sense of trust, especially with the mother.

Major Social and Personality Changes of this Period

The secure attachment has supported/ evinced various traits of Adams. First, she is sociable in the company of the parents. However, a sense of resentment grips in when a stranger visits or tries to carry her. Other than that, Adams copes well with strangers or new environments. She also communicates her feelings through active crying when offended or finds herself in an unfamiliar company ( Boyd & Bee, 2015) . Overall, she is alert, persistent and sensitive to any form of changes in the environment. Up to this point, the highlighted changes suggest why Adams is fond of her parents and home environment.
