This article provides an insight on the Israel –Palestine diplomacy, and how the EU emerged as the lead actor in the peacemaking process. There are no signs that Israel wants to make a peaceful agreement since it has continued to occupy all its territories in Palestine. The authors of the article give a clear statistics by stating that more than 6, 700 housing units have been converted into the Israel settlements unit. The authors argue that if EU is serious about supporting the wishes and right of all the Palestinians, it must step up and act on the already set objectives embedded on the new Global Strategy (Bouris & Huber, 2017). This will make Palestine emerge as a key litmus test or the credibility of EU. The authors further add that all this will happen in the two highlighted EU concerted action: the reconciliation of the Palestinians and rehabilitating Gaza, and enhancing sustainable development in the occupied West Bank and in East Jerusalem. All these must begin with reuniting Gaza, disarming Hamas and the West Bank. The authors finally suggest that the Hamas will only feel secure if the EU guarantees them a formidable political, social- economic security. This paper sheds light on the European Union (EU)’s role as a state-builder. The author of this article divides the article into two main sections of states’ building. The author describes the level of humiliation between the two countries. Both had lost over 6million people and this necessitated a builder who could guide the two counties on which way to follow in order to forget the trauma. Bouris argues that the role EU took could only be successful by ensuring security for the survivors. During the second phase, the author describes how EU deployed psychologists in the affected areas to counsel those who had developed low-esteem and those who could not stop mourning. As the author describes puts it, too much mourning causes self-severe damage, anger, sense of helplessness and it haunts the one who is crying. EU ensured that all victims were identified and the necessary assistance was given to them. In addition, the author further indicated that EU liaised with the redress to offer medical assistance to survivors of the wars (Bouris, 2010). The further suggest that EU psychologists set up programs to help the youth of the two countries on how to control emotions when provoked. The article also describes how the Canadian doctors vaccinated children and slowly developed an initiative that supported the permanent seizure of firearms. Martiniuk and Wires further state that the doctors came up with other programs such as peace-via health. This article provides the most relevant information on how the Canadian medics offered endless support to the Palestine and Israel hence making it vital for this research.

The author reviews the role of media in conflict resolution. Media especially the CNN played a colorful role in the fragile and conflict-affected societies of both the Palestine and Israel. The author of this article describes how CNN made a great impact in spreading the message of peace. Wolfsfeld further gives a review of how CNN spent much time to cover the proceedings of the negotiations between the U.S, Palestine, and Israel in an attempt to find a solution. The author also uncovers how CNN helped humanitarian services to access the most affected areas of Gaza to distribute relieve foods ( Wolfsfeld, 2018) . Wolfsfeld also revealed how the American based news media assisted the Israel government to spread the message of ceasefire through the local language. Through the review of this article it clearly provides sufficient information that forms the background of this research question.
