An organization works hard to ensure that it attains its set goals. To achieve the objectives, strategy development, implementation, and monitoring are essential. Therefore, strategy formulation should be keen to address the primary goals a firm desires to achieve. However, methods used in plan execution are critical determinants of its success. Despite a company having an excellent strategy, the project is likely to collapse if the implementation is not right. According to Alfred (2016), challenges experienced while initiating the application, building and sustaining the momentum, and determining the success are the main failures of strategy implementation. Arguably, initiation being the first stage, it is essential and has high chances of leading to implementation failure if not correctly done.

While initiating action implementation, employees’ involvement is vital. In result, the staff members are informed on how to execute their assignments. Consequently, they get committed to achieving the set objectives. Likewise, strategy practicality is essential since it can be a barrier to project implementation (Alfred, 2016). When the set goal is reasonable and achievable, it turns to be an inspiration to the workers, thus motivating them to achieve it. Also, leadership style can be a challenge to the implementation if there is no team-work between the staff members and the leadership group. The management should ensure there is a right set of leaders in the firm since collaboration and connectedness are key factors for successful implementation. However, the right skills are required for proper strategy implementation (Alfred, 2016). Therefore, the set strategy should be within the employees’ capability limits. Alternatively, training and development for workers should be considered.

Implementation is one of the most challenging stages of a strategy. Therefore, it should be initiated well for an organization to achieve the desired success. Although momentum building and sustaining challenges can lead to project failure if not well resolved, difficulties of initiation implementation are more crucial. Employees’ understanding of strategy implementation ways makes and maintains momentum (Alfred, 2016). However, that is achievable at the initiation stage by taking the staff members through the whole program and showing them the expected results. Consequently, a firm ensuring that workers have the required skills before the project kick off gives them the confidence to handle the assigned tasks. Likewise, leaders' commitment to the success of the project can be determined at the initial stage; hence those with the right motives assigned to lead the implementation. Therefore, the initiating stage is the most significant, and by eradicating the perceived challenges in this section, the strategy is more likely to be a success.
