The video “A day in the life of a Special Education teacher" expresses teachers' strategies during an individualized education program for handling people who are developmentally disabled. The video provides clear evidence that intellectually disabled students have the capacity to learn and utilize new information or concepts. In addition, a special education teacher must be very organized, committed, and have a passion for their work. Although it is challenging to teach intellectually disabled students, greater results can be achieved through commitment and organization.

Commitment is key when teaching students with special needs. Teaching students with an intellectual disability is a demanding task, seeking high-level creativity. After watching the video, I realized the application of unique but straightforward teaching skills. Emily, the teacher, for example, is very committed to seeing her work and seeing her students succeed. She is committed to ensuring that every student's needs are addressed, whereby she even sees off students to the school bus and takes students to the health center when not feeling well. I believe that when a teacher is concerned about the students’ wellbeing, the learning environment is improved, improving learning outcomes. Additionally, commitment and dedication in teachers echo their humanity (Mărgărigoiu, 2015) . Without commitment, the students' needs cannot be met, which would result in poor learning outcomes.

Additionally, organization is key to a special education teacher. Before watching the video, I thought that special education teachers apply unique teaching strategies compared to other teachers. However, the video helped me understand that special education teachers require organization to meet the daily needs of their students (Mississippi College, 2018) . For example, Emily has an overview of the entire day program. Having such a program enables her to address different areas to improve her students' knowledge in all areas, from learning mathematics to handling real-life issues like going shopping. I believe that such an organization is essential, particularly when dealing with intellectually challenged students, as it helps create a routine that addresses every student's needs.

Support structures are crucial when dealing with intellectually challenged students. Before watching the video, I understood that special schools require support. However, after watching the video, I realized that special schools require plenty of structural and social support (Meadan & Monda-Amaya, 2008) . Emily used assistive technology to help students understand concepts faster. In addition to that, the human support from the school administration is tremendous. As a teacher, I expected that her work ended in the classroom. However, she is involved in the students' co-curricular activities, seeing them home, and taking them for shopping. This support amazes me, and I think it is crucial for the sake of improving learning outcomes.

Conclusively, special education is essential in helping students with disabilities. I believe that teaching intellectually challenged students is challenging and requires commitment, organization, and plenty of support. By being organized and committed to ensuring the needs of every student, learning outcomes improve.
