Climate change refers to the significant changes in weather patterns over a long period of time. In the contemporary world, climate change has been used interchangeably with global warming although the terms have different meanings. As the human beings experiences massive shift in the world-wide weather phenomena, the concerns about the aptitude of the earth to enhance, hold and shelter live forms in the long future have dominated various platforms across the world (Carbon Brief 13/12/2017). It is apparently clear that human beings are becoming increasingly concerned about climate change and its relationship with the increase in global average temperatures. The extent of human contribution to modern aspects of climate change has attracted a series of political, ecological and social debates aimed at redefining the role of human beings in promoting sustainable development.
It is without doubt that since time immemorial, human beings have played a major role in destabilizing the world’s climatic conditions leading to climate change and global warming. The major question is how are human beings influencing climate change and what are the most effective intervention measures that can be adopted and implemented to stabilize climatic conditions. It is imperative to establish the levels of human influence in the global climate change debacle and generate idealistic and sustainable mechanisms of preventing further damage while at the same time working towards restoring the degraded climatic systems.

Scores of studies have attributed human activities to climate change. For instance, since the inception of the industrialization agenda in the world, human beings have been clearing forested lands to create room for the construction of industries (Aljazeera 19 /04/2019). As a result, deforestation has taken the central stage across the globe leading to increased Carbon (IV) Oxide (CO2) Levels in the earth’s atmosphere (Carbon Brief 13/12/2017). This influenced weather patterns to change gradually and after a long period of time, human beings started experiencing the extreme effects of climate change
In regards to agricultural endeavors, human beings demand for increased food reserves has encouraged a culture of destroying ecological niches leading to deforestation to create room for planting of crops and rearing of livestock. It is in this respect that scores of studies have associated livestock rearing to increased amounts of greenhouse gasses such as Methane and CO2 in the atmosphere (The New York Time 09/04/2017). Such gases are agents of global warming and have massively contributed to the challenge of global warming hence the confirmation that human beings influence climate change.
Another human activity that justifies the argument that climate change is caused by human activities is founded on the scientific confirmation that burning of fossil fuels threatens environmental sustainability. In the contemporary world, burning of fossil fuels dominates almost every industrial sector in the endeavor to drive the world’s economic agenda. Fossil fuels are used in almost every aspect human activity ranging from the transportation sector to the industrialization sector (NASA 19/04/2019). Over the course of the past two decades, the growth of fossil fuels combustion in the world has significantly increased due to the ever increasing demand for energy and industrialization. As a result of such an increase, greenhouse gases that result from the process of generating energy, industrialization, and transportation have led to the environmental catastrophe of global warming hence climate change (NASA 19/04/2019).
In conclusion, human activities have been identified as the key influencers of climate change through the above discussion. It is precisely evident that the debate about human effects and influence on climate change has attracted social, economic, political and ecological concerns. Having the knowledge that human beings are to blame for the climate change problem, necessary measures to curb more environmental degradation should be generated, adopted and implemented. It is worth concluding that the best estimate for human contribution to climate change in the contemporary world is 100%.
