1. How do the authors of the textbook answer the question of the authorship of Isaiah?

The authors of the book elaborate on the book of Isaiah delineating that it was indeed written by one author, the prophet Isaiah himself. The authors of the book note that the facts presented in the book of Isaiah together with the congruence of the themes in the book dispel any claims that amount to the fact that Isaiah did not write the book himself ( Botros & El-Algamy, 2002) . Moreover, ancient scholars observed and referred to the book as one entity in addition to recognizing that the book could have only been authored by Isaiah.

2. Why is it important to support a single author view of the book?

It is vital to support a single author view of the text given the fact that there is no manuscript evidence for the claim and rather, the claim could be said to emanate from religious critics and skeptics ( Botros & El-Algamy, 2002) . It is claimed that the individuals who failed to appreciate the change of tone to signify the different messages that are prevalent in the prophetic scripture points to the fact that the presumptions are rather misguided. Moreover, supporting single authorship supports the requirement in Hebrews that a true prophet would predict both near events and future events ( Botros & El-Algamy, 2002) . Additionally, the single author view of the book gives the ready the chance to decipher both the call for change in the sins and transgressions indulged in by humans together with highlighting the new salvation that would save humans from their sins.

4. Do you agree or disagree with the textbook?

I agree with the textbook that it is absurd to propose that the book of Isaiah was written by more than one person. The textbook correctly recognizes the fact that the book of Isaiah aims to establish the nature of the followers of the Christian religion in addition to establishing what the destiny of these individuals is ( Botros & El-Algamy, 2002). Moreover, the evidence presented in the book points to the fact that despite the fears caused by critics, the book of Isaiah was indeed written by only author ( Botros & El-Algamy, 2002). It is a fact that the style and tone used by the author would have misled individuals to believing otherwise.
