Upon reading chapter six of Soul keeping, it is the nurture of the soul to need, I agree with the notion that compares a soul to a disturbed man that needs a therapist or psychological care. Here the soul is compared to a man who has most of the signs of anxiety, and the body is compared to his caring therapist, Richard Dreyfus. From this example, I have understood that a soul without the body is useless, for it lacks nurture and care. A soul needs something to look up to. That is why when one sins, it is termed as idolatry because the soul's attention has diverted from Godly values to worldly pleasures. From chapter seven, the soul needs a keeper. I have understood that it is essential for one to develop themselves and work on their souls and wellbeing first before thinking of assisting others. If one is empty of love or any other value, they do not have any to share with people. I have considered and agreed with the notion that an unhealthy soul is like cancer in a community because if one has negative vibes, these are the same ones they will share with the community.

I have never seen a sinkhole, but I believe it is terrible to build a house on such unstable grounds. This is from chapter eight; it is the same case as the soul, which needs a center and stability because without these aspects, the soul will lack patience, internal personality, and it will be vulnerable to persons and circumstances. From chapter nine, the soul needs a future, I have learned that the prospect of a future is a motivation of existence. Those who do not believe in eternity tend to live a value less life with no values because they believe there is an end to life and no future for their soul. On the other hand, those who believe in eternity lead a principled and valued life in anticipation of their soul's next step.

In chapter ten, I agree that the soul needs to be with God because, in the presence of God, life is made glorious. In reality, I believe that people who walk with God have inner peace as compared to those without a stand. From chapter eleven, the soul needs rest; it is evident even from Jesus's story that the soul experiences fatigue that attacks the body, mind, and will. It is crucial for one to take some time out and reorganize themselves. The soul also needs freedom. This is evident from chapter twelve. Sometimes I feel as though the Christianity religion restricts beings from exploring their desires, with the implications of rules. However, I see how these rules and regulation issue structure by terming some bad habits as sin.

The soul needs a blessing, according to chapter thirteen. This is evident even from my life experiences; whenever I do a good deed for someone, I believe they give me a blessing, and I end up receiving so much more. I believe that the soul needs satisfaction, according to chapter fourteen. I have understood that a soul can obtain satisfaction through pleasing the Lord and doing what is righteous in His eyes. Gratitude is vital for the soul, according to chapter fifteen. We should practice this by according gratitude to those who did us favors and, most importantly, giving the most gratitude to God on a regular basis. This will ring one closer to God and invite more blessings.

Chapter sixteen talks about the dark night of the soul, which is brought about by suffering. This is common as people experience low moments of confusion, disappointment, loss, and destruction. Everyone is bound to experience this, and one of my lowest moments was when my father was seriously ill and needed surgery. This brings us to chapter seventeen, which talks about morning. This is a message of hope that joy comes in the morning after suffering. I experienced this when my father made it through a successful surgery.
