Isolation normally occurs when roads are created or trees are cut down and an animal would not be able to migrate to new environments. Animals have instincts that help them move around the environment, thus destroying their habitat makes limits their movement due to fear, hence they are forced to stay only in one place. Moreover, moving vehicles may kill an animal when crossing the road. Majorly, deforestation is normally done to create room for construction of roads, leading to poaching and illegal loggings hence, forcing animals hide in isolation. Furthermore, noise from cars may scare away an animal and this may prevent it from interacting with other mammals of the same species that have been separated by the created roads. Additionally, the road through a forest may fragment or cut off the migration route for endangered species therefore, causing isolation (Mena, 2017). Overall, deforestation in animal habitat is normally due to numerous reasons such as road construction or logging for timber, which may result to animal isolation.

One of the restoration methods that can is used to prevent isolation of animals due to deforestation is influencing better road design and planning. Notably, this can be achieved by encouraging the use of social and ecological measures during preparation and design. Evaluations that are considered biological should be conducted for major routes both locally and universally. Additionally, restoration can be done by involving road construction organizations in forest preservation preparations. The method is effective, as it integrates road planning across related government agencies, thus account for environmental concerns in highway constructions platforms. Also, the approach would conduct analysis on likelihoods of financial costs and biodiversity before road construction. Having knowledge on how the construction of a certain route may have an impact on biodiversity and the economy may help in making right choices concerning highway development. This method of influencing better road design and planning has been used for example in Malaysia and Sumatra. In Malaysia, the wildlife sector has commendably functioned together with road building units to allow the construction of tunnels along newly constructed roads to enable easy movement of mammals in major animal passages. Malaysia has also ensured that suitable government ranks have been involved in road designing. Conservation and development strategies ought to be established at higher ranks instead of lower levels. For instance, in Sumatra, well-timed debates with residents and representatives of the government stopped the construction of highway passing through a national park (Mariati, 2017). Therefore, organizations answerable for highway construction should be incorporated in animal preservation plans as the major project associates.

The short term time frame to complete the restoration plan for isolated animals due to deforestation is one year while the long term time frame is five years. The short term objective for restoration plan is making the community aware of the ecological effects of highway construction plans. Moreover, the government should encourage campaigns on wildlife conservation. Additionally, managements should do thorough studies before coming up with a road building plan. Local agencies should explore policies that can reduce the need for constructing a road through a forest. Furthermore, authorities should integrate underpasses and overpasses into proposed roads designs to evaluate their efficiency. In addition, road construction agencies should create diversions to avoid constructing roads along animal habitats. Particularly, road agencies should find ways to reroute the roads passing through regions occupied by animals of endangered species. The end goal of the restoration project is that isolation of animals should be avoided by preventing creation of roads along their habitats. An animal should be able to move freely and interact with others without having to feel isolated because of roads created by cutting of trees. Therefore, wildlife conservation agencies should ensure that no roads are created in the forests by deforestation. The main goal should be keeping the wild animals safe and away from danger by all means possible.
