Overview of Presentation
At the bottom of every successful business or any business, lie formulated motivation that steers up business in a particular direction sidelined by the organization policies. Clearly stated goals incline members of an organization towards the objectives of the business enhances systems of corporate governance by highlighting the organization’s focus of attention . The growth and success of an organization are contingent on setting and attaining organizational goals and priorities. Leaders form the most important unit as far as performance and thriving of a business is concerned. Ken says that a business demands a leader with a good grasp of what it takes to lead. A leader with heart of leadership has the moral responsibility of honesty and undying urge to need to empower their followers. Leaders cannot inspire their followers if they are incapable of building trust and transparency of the team or organization for them to understand the intent and the underlying actions. Personal Take-Away
People with humility put the needs of others ahead of theirs (Blanchard, 2015). A humble leader loves to see each member winning while they all strive to achieve a common goal. Humility in leadership is not a weakness as believed by many but rather an act of empathy and selflessness in serving. Humble leaders incline towards serving the interests of the organization, and they do not mind going down to the bottom of the abyss if they think the act will result in prosperity of the business (DuBois et al. , 2015). Humility in leadership instills confidence to the subordinates as they see it as an act of respect by their leader and they feel an obligation to reciprocate by putting more energy to work and see that the business thrives. This applies to me as it significantly influences how I relate with and interact with my subordinates. To be an effective leader, I have to be a follower and doer.
Motivation is essential in appreciating the performance of employees. It is a gesture that the employee is doing a good job. Motivation may include giving gifts to giving employees higher pays and giving them resting hours. As a leader, it is imperative that I keep the employees motivated to ensure optimum productivity and realization of the team goals.
Conclusion
Effective leadership is integral to the growth and success of a team or organization. In his presentations, Ken Blanchard emphasized the importance of a leader possessing key attributes such as goal setting, humility, and the heart of leadership. The key take-home points from the presentation are developing strategies for ensuring that the team spirit and motivation persist.
