The hiring of employees is usually a sensitive process that requires attention. Various strategies are usually applied when it comes to this. In this case, the focus will be on Kia’s hiring process. It applied several strategies to ensure the hiring of correct personnel with the required skills.

Kia had to use some strategies to ensure all positions were filled. For them to achieve this, Kia set a limited time for the application to reduce the number of applicants and ensure a smooth process. The HR director also spent much time market Kia’s recruit; he did this by visiting colleges and churches that also appeared on television. This was done to create awareness of the job positions available and the time frame for applications.

Kia also used an online-only application process to make its recruiting system more effective. On the other hand, smaller firms need few resources in recruiting new employees compared to larger firms. Due to limited resources they may be having, they may not be in a position to use technology used by large firms such as Kia, like the use of media in advertisements for job opportunities. For their case, they can use banners and notes in advertising (Potter & Ebb, 2006) . They also require fewer applicants than larger firms. Thus, it is easy for them to find recruits according to their work experience and education level.

Nevertheless, Kia's online system helped them find applicants who matched the required qualification for specific jobs. This made the selection and hiring process more effective, and less efforts were required in finding applicants. A recruitment software used helped sorting applicants into the electronic system, thus divided by work experiences and education level, which made work easier for employers.

The online system also used can be of importance in training and organizing personal data. They also provide pre-hiring assessment tools for confirming that the new employee is a good fit for the position he or she was offered in the firm (Breaugh, 2009) . The system was also used in assessing the resumes of the employee and posting of the job opening.
