Leadership and management are important concepts in nursing and help in improving the quality of care to patients. Integrating these concepts is shaping me into a better nurse leader. The management concept has helped me develop into an organized and responsible individual, which has helped me in dealing with basic nursing roles. I can easily manage people through supporting them, acting as a mentor, and having a clear vision as a nurse in providing quality care (Khoshhal & Guraya, 2016) . I apply the management concept as a guide to becoming a better nurse leader by performing leadership functions and making crucial decisions as a nurse. These include planning, organizing, controlling, and directing activities. Coordinating all these functions have made me a better nurse leader.
Integrating the concepts of leadership and management have helped increase responsibility for patient care. My organization, coordination, and planning skills have greatly improved, which has aided me in providing and coordinating quality services to meet the needs of individual patients in the complex healthcare setting (Hao & Yazdanifard, 2015) . This approach has helped me manage multidisciplinary t eam members based on their skills and expertise, which has improved the assessment, planning, and offering of joint care to the patients (Taylor et al., 2013). For example, I often develop schedules to have some nurses provide specialized care to patients, while others provide general care based on their expertise. This has overall helped in improving patient care.

This experience has played a significant role in my personal and professional development. I have developed into a well-rounded person and leader, which has improved my relationship with my colleagues. Professionally, I have become a competent, and a highly reliable individual, with the main aim of providing quality services and improving the lives of patients and workmates. I am hopeful that I will continue to develop into a better nurse and leader, who will play an important role in improving the patients' wellbeing.
