EBooks and print books
GCU library has a database on e-books which can be accessed while in their softcopy forms. Some of these e-books can also be gotten in the library in print form. They vary from those to be used for class work to that of other uses search as research purposes.
Journal articles
The library also has a database of journals and other forms of publications of short articles that can be used by students to get different useful information. It is categorized based on different topics.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Referral works and endnotes
This can be used when a staff of the university works on any research work or assignments using different sources. The referral work and endnotes are beneficial since it helps one to make citations and get references of various documents of different authors.
Research guide
This database is useful for both students and the alumni of the university who want to conduct research work. It provides information on the guidelines and other requirements that are useful for research purposes. It also has a sample of previous research work done.
I have mainly used the e-books and journals to get more exclusive information when doing assignments and classwork. I like using the database since it saves on time that one uses to search information. They are also very easily accessible as it does not require physical access to the library.
Similarities and Differences between Scholarly Sources and Peer-Reviewed Sources
The similarity between scholar and peer review sources is that they are both written by authors who are considered as experts in given fields. Both sources are well respected for the amount of research put into the work and the level of information that it contains (Bower, 2017). They are approved before publishing.
The difference between the two sources is that before publication, a peer-reviewed source is given a thorough assessment and review by the peers of the author who are also experts on the subject in hand. The reviewed articles can only be published after going through an editorial process. The system is put in place to safeguard and improve the quality of the source. Scholarly sources, on the other hand, do not go through this scrutiny by fellow authors. The publishers are usually more of professional associations or academic press (Harley, 2017).
