The activities are known as classroom activities and are categorized differently. This paper aims to come up with two classroom activities where one will be for listening and speaking, and the other one for reading and writing.
To start with, listening and speaking is a vital part of the life of anybody; nevertheless, in class, the two skills are very vital as a teacher or instructor one can use the song gap-fill as a classroom activity aimed at improving listening and speaking (Kibler, 2015). In this activity, the student is given with recent song lyrics where some of the words are missing, and then the instructor plays the song while pausing so as the student fills in the missing words in the song being played. In the end, the instructor goes through the answers to see the number of students who got the correct answers. Those with the correct answers show a high level of listening and speaking skills.

Peer review writing task is another classroom activity that can be used to make learning more interesting, by this, students are given assignments to write essays, and after writing the essays, they are encouraged to exchange their drafts with seating desk mates. The partner then reads the essay keenly after that writes two paragraphs response to the essay he/she just read. In the first paragraph, it will major in discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the essay ( Yu, 2014). The third paragraph is a description of the main areas in which the partner would have focused on in their essay and probably during revision. Using this classroom activity, students can learn a lot from each other and themselves and in turn improve their writing and reading skills.
Using these classroom activities, the ELA standards being addressed are of various kinds, critical-thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to attentively read texts. Using the peer review writing task classroom activity, students learn to use their cognitive reasoning when they are required to write a response after reading an essay ( Deane, 2015). Using the song gap-fill classroom activity, ELA standards of problem-solving are addressed.
Though the two classroom activity addresses ELA standards, they can be modified to meet an ELD listening and speaking standards also reading and writing standards. The song fill-gap can be modified by using double gap-fill which will reenergize the old standby. The modification would enable students to think about the language of the lyrics before listening to the song itself, this is done by students being put in groups to discuss and brainstorm about different vocabularies that may be of relevance to the title of the song. Peer review writing task classroom activity can also be modified to meet ELA standards, this can be done by use of evidence-based writing practice where the instructor gives a more positive and supportive writing environment for students to give their responses. This will help students give and write feedbacks which are honest and clear. This classroom activity can also be modified by using different strategies for planning and procedures for regulating the strategies; it helps in promoting students ownership and independent use of writing. To conclude, classroom activities are essential in making the learning process of learners more interesting.
