Task II

Functional Object

One of the functional objects in my house is a functional office wooden table where I work from at home. The wooden table is a work of a craftsman specialized in making wooden furniture. Similar to the weaving process described in video, a craftsman embarks in a process of create a simple furniture like a table. Besides, as stated in the video, making wooden furniture is in itself an art. When a craftsman reproduces an antique piece of furniture or puts a modern twist on a trusted favorite style, they get a sense of achievement for their efforts. Looking at the table, it is clear that the craftsman used their unique skills to make such a unique piece of furniture.

Task III

Decorative Object

This is a decorative glass flower painting on my wall. The painting is very important to me because it is very beautiful and it is the work of my good friend. Regarding painting, artists have multiple mediums to use for their paintings including watercolors, fresco, gouache, oils and acrylics. My glass flower painting is an example of a watercolor painting. Watercolor is among the hardest mediums to make, its transparent streaks nearly impossible to cover up and its different techniques precise and prestigious, although fulfilling when done ( Gonzalez-Gutierrez, Martinez, Moctezuma & Zenit, 2018) . Like weaving in the video, it is a process which involves skills and putting ones artistic skills to come up with a beautiful painting like the one in my home.
