In contemporary society, education is a fundamental factor for societal wellbeing since it is the focal point of knowledge and its application. Nothing is as important as caring for fellow human beings, especially those that are living with different health issues and require close monitoring either in their residences or in health facilities. As such, for one to be unlimited in their nursing service, it is essential that they enroll for a registered nursing course which will grant them the leeway to handle even complex health issues. Connectedly as a licensed practical nurse and working in skilled/long term nursing, I wish to apply for a scholarship for a registered nursing course in your esteemed institution. Informing this scholarship ambition are both educational, and career goals which align with my vocation, which is to serve patients as long-term care (LTC) registered nurse.
As mentioned above, I acknowledge that by acquiring higher education, I will upgrade my knowledge and expertise in the nursing field, thus attaining the qualification of a registered nurse. As a registered LTC nurse, I will be able to coordinate medical teams involved in creating treatment plans, educate patients and their families on the treatment plans available, and monitor patients' health progress including giving them therapeutic treatments such as regular exercises. Attaining, the LTC registered nurse accreditation will form the basis for my short-term and long-term career goals. Concerning my short-term goal as LTC nurse, I plan to identify an experienced LTC nurse who will serve as my career mentor. A mentor will help me adapt and become comfortable with my job responsibilities as an LTC nurse (“ American Health Care Association,” 2019 ). In the long term, I will aim at becoming an educator of LTC nurses since I believe in continuity of service delivery and as such, I will contribute in the developing the career paths of other nurses. Concerning long term care experience, I have cared for children with multiple problems who usually require frequent suctioning, have recurrent seizures, and are often vented. In line with this, I have already undertaken and certified the requirements for National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (“ NCLEX & Other Exams," 2019 ). Hence, guided by the mentioned educational and career goals, I project that I will be able to leave a long-lasting mark in the nursing world.

In conclusion, through the scholarship for the registered nurse course, I envision that I will be able to meet my career goal of becoming registered LTC nurse which in turn serve as a pedestal from where I will be able to catapult my nursing profession to higher levels.
