1. Introduction
My names are Howard Jones, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Missouri State. The purpose of this writing is to request for your support for bill MO HB693. This law will help our jurisdiction in convening the new national standards for APRNs outlined in the Consensus Model for APRN Regulation (the consensus can be retrieved from www.ncsbn.org/aprn.htm). Representatives from different APRN groups deliberated and compiled the standards that are supported by APRNs within Missouri. The aim of setting these standards is to help APRNs within all US Jurisdictions work under the same roles and meet equal qualifications. Consequently, these guidelines will increase Missouri citizens’ access to safe and competent health care.
2. Story and Ask
APRN is broad and includes certified nurse midwives (CNMs), certified nurse practitioners (CNPs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), and certified registered nurse anesthetists. Nurses within APRN are extraordinarily valued and crucial part of the health care system. These nurses have adequate expertise and knowledge necessary to care for patients in the absence of doctors and can immensely improve access to health care within the rural areas of Missouri. The passage of bill MO HB693 will assist in the adoption of language that will:
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Ensure that APRN engages in the practice of advanced practice nursing without supervision or delegation from a physician.
Ensure that APRN prescribe any controlled substances listed in schedules II to V of section 195.017
3. Conclusion
I have plans to mobilize nurses to raise awareness through a meet the people campaign about the bill within Missouri State. Therefore, I request for your assistance in publicizing the law through the campaign. The advanced practicing registered nurses will be extremely honored for your devotion to help citizens of Missouri access better health care and on their behalf will award you with a bouquet.
