The purpose of the national strategy analysis is to identify the place of women in society, especially on matters that concern discrimination and oppression. It further looks to identify the role of women in the advancement of peace and stability in times of conflict. It is evident that women contribute immensely to the achievement of peace and stability. Even as women are now enjoying more rights and privileges, these opportunities and freedoms seem fewer when compared to what men can access. Society still takes advantage of the vulnerability of women and girls sometimes exposing them to abuse, discrimination, or violence ( United States Government, 2019). Therefore women are still subjected to various forms of oppression and discrimination based on their gender. The strategy looks to demonstrate how the government is going to address inequality and discrimination for women. Despite decades of women being pushed at the back while men are given all the opportunities, society is gradually changing and providing more opportunities for women ( Lyman, 2013). The United States and other countries that value women identity that, a world with empowered women will benefit from the peace and security that result ( Lambert, 2018). Therefore, there needs to be a strategy to help empower women more and ensure equality and protection for them. This strategy mainly focuses on the role when can play in conflict resolution and the achievement of peace globally. There is sufficient information on issues of women discrimination and oppression. A significant percentage of violence and abuse is subjected towards women and girls. It is so even after the world has evolved to an era where women feel a certain sense of appreciation. It means that even as society feels that women are now being treated better, they still encounter instances of discrimination and violence. The specific role women can play in helping restore peace and resolve conflict has not be researched enough and therefore the strategy looks to show the world the immense potential women and girls have in this area ( Archer, 2018). The information will contribute significantly towards the development of policies that enhance the empowerment of women and the when of discrimination and oppression for them. The strategy ensures to borrow from previous research which indicates that peace and stability after conflict are likely to endure if and when women participate in the process of acquiring peace ( O’Reilly, 2015). The strategy is focus on policy analysis and looks to identify and analyze the policies in place which enforce the empowerment and inclusion of women in conflict resolution. Using the six steps of policy analysis, the following is availed in the analysis. The problem is that women and girls are still being subjected to oppression, discrimination, violence, and abuse. The evaluation criteria used is the strategic analysis of a policy available on addressing women's discrimination. An alternative policy is an empowerment of women to take part in conflict resolution and the eventual gaining of peace and stability. The alternative does not only help empower women to speak out and let their voices be heard but also encourages them to take their political position and let their expertise resolve issues that are affecting society. Other alternatives would include a focus on increased education and more corporate opportunities for women. They would also involve more women in leadership positions. Nonetheless, their place and potential in conflict resolution means that they can make critical decisions that touch on peace and stability for their nations. Monitoring the policy will require a follow-up on the inclusion of women in such positions across the world and identifying how those already taking up these positions are performing. When analyzing the policy’s feasibility, one can identify how easy it is to implement. It requires immense advocacy to the rest of society and the availing of more opportunities for women. It presents more benefits for the entire country than it does costs. It would be easy to achieve peace and stability and a nation’s women and girls will be empowered to help bring along many other development opportunities. Politically, women may need to take up some leadership positions that have often been reserved for men. Therefore, there will be a wave of political insecurity especially among men. Potential outcomes are that nations will manage to achieve peace and stability in case of conflict, women will be more empowered for leadership and the nation will experience an overall development in all aspects. The stakeholders involved are the government, women, girls, men, institutions and the country at large. The research does define the outcomes and possible policy solutions whose applicability can be identified from such a policy working for some nations. What is left is for scholars to identify how women are affecting global peace and stability. Does their empowerment have any effect on global peace? One policy recommendation is the provision of room for women in bodies that develop and implement policies to ensure equal representation. As the research concludes, women's empowerment presents immense benefits for the entire nation as it can help achieve peace and stability. It also provides the perfect ground for other forms of development that will result from women's empowerment.
