Marcel’s problem is tied to mental health issues because he has a history of sexual harassment, domestic violence, neglect, drug addiction, and homelessness. The nature of physical and emotional abuse Marcel went through in his early life changed not only his mindset and perception about the society but also his behaviors towards people he should love, such as the family members. Marcel needs help to change the way he thinks, and the best way to achieve such is to set a treatment plan that can cater to his addiction and also behaviors. From the assessment, the behavioral theory seems to be the best in this case to reinforce positive thought and to eliminate the negative thoughts that Marcel has to develop mostly concerning the family, drugs, and society in general.

The current problem
Marcel is suffering from mental and behavioral issues. The root courses of both the psychological and behavioral illnesses the patient is suffering from are the physical and emotional abuse he underwent at his early stage of life. At his young age, Marcel had to endure physical abuse in the hands of his abusive father, and it was at this time that he started using drugs. The strenuous relationship between and the family led to his homelessness, a situation that has resulted in his sexual assault. Currently, Marcel has three issues that need solutions. Marcel is a sex addict, a drug addict, and has a problematic relationship with his family.

Treatment Goals
The basis of the counseling will be the behaviorism theory, and it will aim to replace unwanted behaviors with desirable behaviors ( Hoedemaekers, 2019). It will be individual counseling, and the following will be the goals:
The first goal will be to make Marcel quite drugs within the first week of the therapy or counseling session by treating the drug addiction disorder he has developed
The next goal will be to make Marcel reduce his constant sexual activities within the second week of the therapy session by focusing on treating the psychological mindset and reversing his behaviors towards forming healthy relationships.
The last goal of the counseling as a treatment plan is to increase his positive perception of his family within the next two weeks of the treatment session.
Treatment Objectives for Each Goal (The Role of the Client)
The treatment goals objective focuses on what the client will need to do to strive and achieve the purposes of the treatment plan. For the Case of Marcel, the following are the objectives:

Marcel will have to stay away from drugs for one week as a way to limit his usage
Marcel will have to stay away from his friends and places where he takes drugs for one week.
To reduce his sexual behaviors;
Marcel will have to stay away from his sexual partners for one week
Marcel must not engage in commercial sex for the rest of the treatment session
To change his perception of his family:
Marcel must be free to share his past relationship with his family within the last week of the therapy session
Marcel must also be willing to reconcile with his family in the last week of the therapy session
Interventions (The Role of the Counselor)
To help Marcel quite drugs, the counselor will:
Introduce Marcel to detoxification for the first week of the therapy session
Use aversion therapy or aversive stimuli to reduce Marcel’s rate of drug addiction and alcohol abuse
