Many years help in shaping an individual to a person they would like to be at one point in their lives. The childhood and adolescents play a significant part of the experience, people do not tend to regard them as some of the critical times in life. The reality is that the period between childhood and adolescents are essential in shaping someone's self-esteem and life. These are years between the lower and upper high school when people tend to be mischievous and highly influential and vulnerable to both positive and negative influences from the peer. Childhood and adolescents are periods between the five to fifteen years old. Though, this age varies depending at the time when such people arrive at such changes as they differ from one person to next. In this article, the focus is on this age and how it has the potential of shapingpeople’slife. Notably, the focus is to establish why this age is critical despitemany people regarding it as less serious times of their lives. Thestandpointin this article is that these are the years of development and parents have to take care of their children so that they remain careful with life as any mistake at this point may have a huge impact on their children future lives.

The situation within the family for instance the family structure, the family setting and also the family codes of conduct are critical parameters of shaping the child development mostly when they are within the bracket of the childhood and adolescents. The situation within a family can either be dysfunctional or functionalfamilies. The dysfunctional family structure is where there is unhealthy relationship between the family members. In such a family, people play blames games ( Blakely-McClure &Ostrov, 2016). They try to find ways of or defensivemechanism to either confronts or avoids the conflict instead of searching for the solution. Such a family has a lot of issues which may end up shaping the life of a kid in an awkward way. For instance, when there are no rules or structure which shapes the kid behavior du to unhealthy family structure, there are lot of fear and insecurity that develop alongside the kid. Such may be unhealthy in the future. In comparison to this, functional family structure is the best for the growth and development. This is a situationwhere mistakes are corrected through a friendly manner. For instance, it entails showing the child how to clean up milk and avoid a similar accident when he or she accidentallyspills the milk. Parents need to struggle and get such a family structure for a proper child development.

Peer relationship is critical as it helps the children find their place within the social context of the society. Due to peer relation, a child finds a cool atmosphere for social and moralgrowth and thus foster peer interaction. As they interact socially, the child gets a chance to grow morally and ethically, as they learn how to strike and sustain a friendship. They also learn valuable traits such as sharing, leadership and also support. It is at this age that is also critical for the adolescent stage sine they find out the wrong side of life as friends reject them and end up lonely in the different groups ( Blume, 2016).  As these unveil in their lives, they tend to learn about many virtuesthat are critical in life. However, this is also part of life that is dangerous for adolescents and children. At this moment, the children may get absorbed into different characters which are different from the moral traits they are taughtat homes as they try to adjust and find good friends. It is thus critical that parentsbecome vigilant at this time since a child may develop bad behaviors from bad companies that may end up having a negative impact on their lives.

At middle childhood and adolescents, there are similar pressure and stressors that shape life. Though they are identical, there are slight differences that come in as more pressure pile as a child develops to the adolescentstage. There is a lot of pressure that can influence teens, for instance, those things they watch on television and different videos and movies as well as those they listen to in the music. These items enforce different topic and behavior such as drugs, sex, violence and cigarette, and a kid may emulate such actions but may not practices them instantly. Also, they develop different role models ranging from siblings, parents and movies stars. They look upon this individual for guidance and try to conform to their lives as they try to shape their lives to look like those of their role models. Thepressure then develops more and more as they grow to preteen anthemteens. At an adolescent, these individuals come in terms with peer pressure that forces them to conform to different groups that may either positively or negatively change their lives.

Morality is critical as one develops from childhood to adolescents. When children grow up, they follow the rules with no question since they do trust the sources which some happen to be their role models in life. However, this changes as they approach the adolescent stage. At this time, they tend to question the rules and would like more explanation of why they have to act in such a manner. The morality development through complex, but it is critical to understand that it is shaped by the environment as well as other biological make-up that are complex.
