Description of the meditations
Body and sound meditation
The body and sound meditation is about meditating the sounds made by the body or the surrounding environment. It also includes any movement, pulsation, or a heartbeat. It may be done in any posture: standing, seated, or lying.
Body scan meditation
This meditation is about the body: the hands, the legs, stomach, back and other parts. It deals with the weight of the body against the chair, the pressure of the legs against the floor or the pulsation of the arms among others. The best posture for this meditation is sitting posture.

Impressions
Body and sound meditation
It was hard to concentrate on a body sounds or sounds made by the environment, especially when the mind gets carried away by one sound in particular. However, the feeling was relaxing. With time, the meditation improved.
Body scan meditation
This meditation was easy since it was about one particular body part at a time. After softening one body part, then the meditation focusses on the other part. The feeling was very relaxing and even better with time.
Comparing the two meditations and their importance to self
The two meditations are equally good. At first, they are difficult, especially for the first timers, however, with practice, the feeling improved and the results were better. Based on the results, I think meditation is an ideal solution whenever I want to relax both the body and mind. I have realized that I have been doing the body scan meditation without following the right procedure. However, the procedure presented is more effective. At the same time, I have not been having time to feel my muscles during mediation. Mostly, it is all about the mind and sometimes, it is hard to control the body parts when the mind is not focused. However, the two meditations have proved the importance of meditating in the right manner: it is both refreshing and relaxing (Chiesa & Serretti, 2010).
