Underlying Themes or Similarities
Based on the questions responded by the pastor, administration and missionary position in the church ministry, they have several similarities such their love for what they do, willingness since they were not forced or coerced into joining the ministry, and their possession of different gifts they use to serve in the ministry. The interviewee in the administration position has a gift of administration which aid in coordination, maintaining and sustaining the ministry. This interviewee is in charge counselling whereby she has the gift of exhortation, a gift used in counseling, and the gift of healing and wisdom. The pastor interviewee also has the gift of exhortation, wisdom and healing, which they use in preaching to their congregation. The clerical interviewee had a gift of help and service. They share the gospel that is spread from the church to their congregation through bulletins, record keeping, church directory, letter writing and telephoning and typing.
Differences in the Conversations
All of them had different experiences upon inquiring on the experiences they had which gives them confidence for the ministry position they are serving. Sheila Rodriguez, the interviewee in charge of counselling said that ever since she was young, she has always had the passion of helping and counselling people and the church gave her the opportunity to do this. Pastor Joel Walker said that his experience in leadership and spreading the gospel since he was in high school is what gives him self-reliance for the ministry. Christine Kent, the clerical manager interviewee said she loves writing inspiration blogs and messages. This is what gives her the self-assurance in serving her position in the ministry.

What Surprised me the Most?
What surprised me the most from the interviews is that the besides the ministry positions they had, some have very interesting leisure activities while others are afraid of facing huge crowds of people. Joel loves working out in the gym. He says that during his leisure time, he likes lifting weights. He goes to the local gym to work out and train together with his friends. He is a leader and loves interacting as seen with Peter, the disciple of Christ. Sheila, on the other hand, loves surfing but is afraid of facing the crowd. She admits that her individual counselling might have contributed to the fear of facing so many people. Lastly, Christine loves travelling, particularly nature visits. According to her, travelling provides relaxation and inspiration to write her blogs and messages. She is likened to Paul who spent his final years alone writing about the gospel of Christ and is associated with several epistles to different churches.
What did not Surprise me?
From the conversations I had with the three ministry members, something which did not surprise me was that in these different positions in the ministry, education and knowledge about the ministry is a requirement. For a counselling position, one must have knowledge in psychology, pastor position requires knowledge in theology and clerical position requires knowledge in administration and typing. The gifts they have and the knowledge complement each other in optimally serving the ministry.
APEST Roles
In the APEST role of ministry according to Ephesians 4:11-13, all of these positions according to the interview conducted fulfil this role. The church leaders have equipped different people with knowledge of the different ministry positions based on the gifts they possessed. The jobs of the pastor position and teachers such as the counselors are to train, equip and prepare the believers to learn and function in the ministry themselves. By doing this, the church grows stronger since each individual’s gifts bring depth and strength the ministry as a whole, bringing out the maturity of the body of Christ.
