Human services is an interdisciplinary field with the aim of meeting human needs through the application of knowledge as it focuses on prevention, providing solutions as well as maintaining a commitment to an improved quality of life of the people. The models differ in various ways although their aim is to provide quality life to the clients. The medical model consists of the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The steps followed in a medical model are chronological for the well-being of the clients. The human services model deals with the day to day situations encountered by people in the society. The model considers the environment and the individual and how to balance and link the two. To deal with such a client one has to look at all the factors in the environment that might affect them as well as the extent to which they might affect them and in this model one deal mostly with the positives rather than the negatives. The spiritual model considers religious matters as different people have different beliefs and therefore the way they collaborate or link with one another call for guidance so as to create sustainable relationships. Religion may affect people in various ways that might move them towards having a particular behaviors.

As a human service professional, I would use the human service model as a human service professional. This is because the environment greatly influences most of the conditions encountered by people. Linking people with the environment and ensuring that they work smoothly reduces chances of contradiction as the risks associated with this are eradicated. The model also links both the medical model and the spiritual model as they are in the environmental composition of the human service model.
