“The Mindfulness Movie” is an educational and fun film that depicts the global brain research offering the advantages of mindfulness together with the growing awareness and acceptance of the public concerning the practice. The film appreciates the persons who have played a critical role in reshaping mindfulness to daily as well as practical skills. Neuroscientists reveal the manner in which the mindfulness practice alters the brain literary in constructive ways while paying attention allows persons to exercise it. In the entire film, various inspirational ideas and points become apparent and how altering the manner in which people see things can change their lives (The Mindfulness Movie, 2019) . For this paper, it will discuss the five points that stood out as useful from the movie, why they are useful in my opinion, and how I can incorporate the ideas in my daily life.

The first point that stood out to me as useful is one of the important role that mindfulness plays in changing the structure of the brain while improving the capacity of people to focus. With mindfulness meditation, the sizes of major regions in the brain change, especially the ones responsible for boosting the capacity for people to focus. The memory becomes strengthened allowing people to become more resilient when under the influence of stress. The decision-making ability of persons improves allowing them to become empathetic listeners in line with showing more compassion to their colleagues. Secondly, the film has allowed me to realize the role of mindfulness in promoting creative thinking. While not all types of meditation influence creativity in the same manner, mindfulness allows persons to realize divergent thinking while having the ability of introducing more ideas as opposed to before practicing mindfulness (The Mindfulness Movie, 2019) . Individuals are able to generate several possible solutions for addressing a particular problem.

Thirdly, the film led me to notice how mindfulness increases the resiliency of persons to stress while improving their immune response. Mindfulness helps people to increase activity on their brains left side, which is responsible for regulating emotions and positive affect. Persons with increased activation on this area are able to recover more quickly after stressful events. Fourthly, the movie led me to realize that mindfulness boosts self-compassion, which contributed to improved emotional coping skills when dealing with diverse challenges in life. Mindfulness plays a critical role when it comes to cultivating the deeper self-compassion levels. Importantly, persons with higher self-compassion have increased perspective of the problems that they face while these challenges do not lead them to feel isolated. These people also realize reduced anxiety when thinking of the problems that face them. More self-compassionate persons have reduced stress levels leading them to have longer and healthier lives. Lastly, the film assisted me to understand the influence of mindfulness in reducing emotionally reactive behavior. Since mindfulness plays an essential role in reducing stress and anxiety. Individuals become less aggressive and fearful (The Mindfulness Movie, 2019) . In this vein, exercising mindfulness during the long term would facilitate in reducing emotionally reactive behavior considerably.

From the ideas attained from “The Mindfulness Movie,” I can apply them to my life in various ways. By exercising mindfulness, I will be able to create a mental list of the different things in my life that am grateful while focusing on making them better. In addition, whenever I find myself impatient or anxious, it will be possible to focus on my breathing, such as when waiting in line, meeting new persons, or even stuck in traffic among other anxious situations. As opposed to becoming upset or showing increased tension, it will be possible to look at these as ideal opportunities for becoming mindful while focusing on my deep exhale and inhale to become less stressed and calmer.
