The study is important in relating music and depression which is a condition that involves changes in mood. Moreover, the study is important in determining the level of depression that are better suited for music therapy. This includes assessment of relevant effect of the music therapy in terms of comparisons between anticipated and actual outcomes.

Trials formed the major part of the study where the researchers focused on the outcomes of individual trials to make comparisons. The trials included activities such as singing, listening or playing along music. This approach is relevant to the aim of the study in light of the fact that it tests how much a person is affected by dementia. In that regard, the researcher can be able to test the effect of music-based therapeutic interventions at different levels. The study is important in determining if music-based therapy is effective in improving emotional well-being. What is more, music-based therapeutic interventions can be used to determine emotional and behavioral changes in the treatment process. As a result, a comparison of the two changes can be used to choose the best approach to the treatment of dementia.
