Over the years, academic progression and peak achievements have consistently acted as the base for my goals and expectations. With each passing day, I have focused on my self-development and the ways in which I can use the skills and information that I obtain to explore new environments. This unit, especially, has acted as a valuable tool that I can use for the achievement of my goals. The purpose of this report is to persuade you that I deserve to get an A grade. I will do this by highlighting my immense focus, hardworking nature, and my understanding of course concepts, which has enabled me to appropriately apply them.
Zig Ziglar once said that the lack of direction and not time is the problem as each human being has twenty-four hours in a day. I've grown up with three brothers, each of which was incredibly gifted or skilled in one area or another. However, growing up, I watched them dedicate immense time and effort to be good at what people know, just refer to as 'gifted.' In fact, one of my brothers is the President of Woodland Community College as a result of his dedication and passion for education. To get there, he had to devote himself incredibly to his passion, hone his skills, and throw himself into projects that would develop him as the leader that others know to see him as. Just as with your tatting process, learning takes time, and individuals have to devote themselves to fully grasp the concepts. Through him, I have come to learn that there are no excuses or shortcuts to getting what you want. You have to go all-in when you really want something as sitting around will never get where you want to be. While others around me may have regarded growing up with my brothers as being intensely stressful due to their pressure of the success, I viewed it as a motivating factor.

While completing this course, I act as a full-time employee for AT&T as a retail sales consultant for over 13 years. While staying at one place has been frustrating due to my love for constant growth, I have a focus on further developing myself in other ways. Recently, this growth has taken on the form of further education. I have thrown myself into the collection of skills and capabilities that will not only place me in a better position to get what I want but also make me more valuable as an employee in every task that I am assigned to. This has meant early morning and late nights, along with tight schedules broken periodically by periods of meditation. Currently, I have an 81.6 grade in the course, which has required my prompt completion of assignments and ensuring that the quality of work I complete meets up to the standards that are expected of me.
Moreover, the clear work ethic I have seen from you has driven me to be more focused and purposeful and about how I spend my time and the ways in which I invest my resources. By one working one full-time professor along with teaching as an adjunct professor in the Communications Studies Department at California State University, your passion for your goals and values is evident. Through your growth and the success, you have had in teaching, you act as a prime example that being focused is typically rewarding. Complete dedication to what one aims to achieve is essential for future growth. As I have committed myself to successfully completing this course, while also ensuring I effectively conduct my duties at work, my goal of proper academic achievement is within reach.
I am a huge sports fan and love to watch sports tournaments. In particular, some of my favorites are basketball and soccer, mainly because they show how teamwork can be used for optimum results. Along with my studies and work duties, I also play indoor soccer, which acts as a way for me to be physically active while also playing out my interests with the sports world. Your participation in swimming and inter-collegiate forensics, even though you state that you weren't so competitive at swimming, were critical to your growth as a contributive member in society. My participation in indoor soccer has also been priceless in helping me adjust and grow as a productive part of my society. As a 33-year-old, I still think I have immense room for exploration. This is why I plan to transfer in Fall 2020 to Sac State to obtain my bachelor's degree in communications. This, I believe, will further help me in being more skilled in the sales sector.
One of the main principles that have guided me has been the willingness to sort out what seems complicated and difficult to me as a way of learning. Through the course, I have been able to use the different persuasive strategies I have learned to improve my communication. This has incredibly enhanced the effectiveness of my interactions with others. Just learning a concept or skill is not enough; one has to identify how to use what they have learned to improve their environments. By owning and acting as an employee at Jenkinson Associates, which is a communication and marketing research consulting firm, I believe that you have become an expert at the very concepts you aim to teach. Furthermore, by coaching competitive speech at both CSUS and SCC, it is evident that you were able to significantly improve your ability to teach others and pass on the skills and knowledge that you have.
Similarly, through observation of the level of skills and expertise that you learned through the application of what you knew, this course has not only been about learning but also applying. In my work environment, I have been able to convince my supervisors on several occasions why one course of the actions was better than the other. This has been done through gaining a proper understanding of why one form of reasoning would be better suited for one individual as opposed to the other. In this way, I was able to effectively communicate my ideas and opinions in a way that made sense to the other party without the use of coercion. This has also significantly enhanced the quality of my relationships with my colleagues and employers, as the value of my knowledge and my capabilities are recognized.
As my professor and an individual that I respect for the level of integrity and reasoning that you display, I believe that you value the level of dedication and efforts that is invested into practice and growth. Based on my skills and my focused investment in further developing and growing my skill level and knowledge, I believe that I have shown complete dedication to the unit. Furthermore, through the application of the strategies and concepts that I have been able to gain, I have deliberately shown my willingness to practice what I learn and understand the concepts taught. In this way, I then reason that I deserve an A grade, not only for my level of hard work and dedication but for exceeding my expectations and standards in regards to academic application. As a full-time working individual, this course has been considerable in showing me that the only limits that I have, are those that I set for myself.

In this report, I have used three strategies and tactics of persuasion. These strategies include;
Ethos
Through the essay, I have made several attempts to show you, as my audience, that I am credible and interesting. In certain aspects of the essay, there are several instances in which I tried to establish credibility with you by appearing to have good moral character and common sense. For instance, as I know that you have no tolerance for individuals that fall behind deadlines, I was able to highlight my ability to complete and submit my assignment on time, despite having a full-time job, while also playing indoor soccer. My ability to simultaneously fulfill these other positions in my life was also included to create a strong and lasting impression of myself to you. I also used several components of your life (such as having two other jobs, in addition to your full-time work). I compared them with components of my life (my willingness to work full-time while also studying) to establish familiarity with you.
Argument with Backing
I was able to present data and claim before presenting my actual argument. To argue that I was a focused individual, I was able to indicate how my upbringing had positively affected me, my full-time work, and my desire for growth. I then used my 81.6 grade as data before warranting my argument that I was focused due to the dedication of my efforts.
Deductive reasoning
To reason my argument, I used deductive reasoning. This was by stating that since I am focused and dedicated, then I surely deserve to get an A grade. Furthermore, I also indicated that as your dedication to your work and development in your field had resulted in success, my dedication to academic achievement should then result in academic success.
