Working as a financial manager in Capsim simulation would fit with some of my work values. One such work value is creativity. A potential role as a financial manager at Capsim would fit with my creativity since financial managers are tasked with devising plans, as well as strategies for a company's long-term financial goals. Collaboration constitutes another one of my key work value that would suit my role as a financial manager. This is mainly because financial managers must collaborate with company executives over the course of the decision making process. As such, I am convinced that the position of a financial manager in Capsim simulation will meet two of my work values, namely, collaboration and creativity. It is worth noting, however, that a position as a financial manager in Capsim simulation would not meet one of my work values, that is, influence. This is predominantly because influence necessitates that one holds a top position in the organizational hierarchy, and the position of a financial manager is several levels below the most influential position in the organizational hierarchy. Nonetheless, this is not a deal breaker for me and I still intend to take up the position. Prior to enrolling for a CTU master’s program, I worked as a credit analyst for 3 years. My current career stage is entry level and I have never worked as a financial manager. In addition, my career goal is to become an investment banker. As a career changer, I will explore a host of jobs to lead me to my career goal. The jobs include an investment banker, a financial manager, in addition to a chief financial officer (CFO). At the moment, I have my own dedicated career coach at CTU who will among others things assist me to know where to identify those jobs that will best prepare me to reach my long-term career goal. In addition, the career coach will help to know how to get to my career goal. The career coaching at CTI will be instrumental in helping me reach my career goals as it will guide me about the steps I need to take as I strive to reach the goals.
