The Myers Briggs assessment is among the tools that can facilitate the recruitment and selection process. Essentially, this assessment instrument allows individuals to establish their personality type. While questions have been raised about its validity, it is difficult to deny that when used correctly, this tool can yield useful insights. In recruitment and selection, the Myers Briggs assessment can be used to match employees to roles for which they are best suited. For example, after taking the Myers Briggs assessment, I was able to confirm that I belong to the ENFJ-A Protagonist personality category. Essentially, this means that I care deeply about others and strive to ensure that the needs of those around me are met. I feel that I would be most productive in roles that offer opportunities for collaboration with others. I also believe that the Myers Briggs assessment can be applied in employee training following selection and recruitment. For instance, while I am able to work closely with my colleagues, my personality type exposes me to the risk of being victimized. Therefore, through training, I can acquire the skills that I need to be assertive and to defend my interests. In summary, the Myers Briggs assessment is an essential resource for firms that truly wish to hire the right employees. 

The benefits of the Myers Briggs assessment extend beyond employee selection and recruitment. Other benefits include improved communication, employee motivation and conflict management. Additionally, this tool is credited with facilitating leadership development and forming cohesive and highly effective teams (Bajic, 2016). For instance, companies can place employees in groups whose members share personality types. The Myers Briggs tool can also be applied in identifying the incentives that cause employees to be more productive and the triggers that upset them. Basically, this instrument is essential for companies which seek to establish teams that work together seamlessly and are composed of members who are motivated, communicate effectively and are able to resolve conflicts as and when they arise.
